My parents raised me to believe that nobody gets respect just because they demand it, or think that they should get it.
For example.......you always hear elderly people say "respect your elders"
I was raised and I am a firm believer in the fact that you get respect when you earn respect. It is not something that one gets automatically.

Any femaile I've ever been with, even just a day or so, I have given respect to and for.
The simple fact that she is willing to spend time with you, earns her that respect.
Remember, to always treat people the way you want to be treated.
