on hd lcd monitors with built in dvd players, are the dvd players progressive scan players? is this assumed?

i wouldnt assume it lol...its somthing that the player and the monitor both have to support though ... so if one or the other is touted as progressive then its logical to assume if they are built together they both are.

i work with those. they do not have progressive scan. they are very cheap players. i wouldn't recomend those to anybody once the dvd player goes out you have to send the whole thing in for repairs. you can easily buy another external player.
