Protein is protein....basically...you need 8 essential amino acids (parts of protein) to build all the different proteins your body needs. So the protein from whey would provide at least some of those...you should try and gets protein from lots of different sources, such as beans, fish and other meats. If you are a vegetarian and you can only get protein from plant materials, nuts and beans are your best bet...and try a wide variety.

it will definitely help but you still need whole foods. whey cant replace a balanced diet. total protein should be 1 gram per pound of bodyweight. whey is best used when u need fast protein like when u wake up or b4/after u lift. any other times u should eat whole foods like chicken,eggs,meat,fish. dont forget carbs either. u need 2-3 grams of carbs per pound. use oatmeal,sweet potatoes, whole wheat bread.
