This is an age old question...and you will get tons of answers on both sides! My thoughts about this are simply going through in your mind what can go wrong before you decide. Some very good friends are able to have causal sex and stay friends, usually this means the sex part will last no more than a few months....as any human tends to form bonds. Also some friends dont really talk about what can happen and end up losing the friendship.
For me I think that my best loves have been my best friends and if you are really good friends and want to be physical then why are you not simply dating!

Not if you want to stay friends. If it is going to be one time sex, you'll ruin the friendship. If you think it could be more then go for it but know you won't be friends again, or at the very least it will make things awkward. What is more important to you. Talk to your friend first about all the possibilities before you just do it. A good friend is hard to find and a shame to lose. -Trust me my best male friend of 10 yrs and i fooled around one night, and it was never the same after, sex just got in the way. Actually it got in the way for me, i wanted more sex,he wanted both friends and sex. i couldn't be just friends, so now we don't speak. Be careful!

It is a big risk. There is no such as no strings attached to sex with a friend. You're committing yourself to more even if you don't realize it. If you want a relationship that is more serious then it is a good thing. Be careful it is not just bodies that are involved.

Yes, if you both want to jump into that situation. It can get very awkward and the friendship may fall apart because of it so I would think twice before doing the deed.

well it really depend on how you see this friend of yours... if you are close enough why not... if you want to know him better i would suggest it's a good idea... it would also be an advantage to you if you would suggest that your good friend will sleep in your house so to give time as well for your family member to know him/her better...

If you want to and your friend wants to it's OK. But remember the consequences if it doesn't work out. If you're both willing to take that risk it's OK but if you're now I'd stay away.

depends on whether you want the friendship to last... if you sleep with a good friend it will mess with your relationship... (it could be fine... but it could go really bad)... It's a risk: think about whether you would be willing to sacrifice the friendship for the sex... b/c it could come down to that.
