I read that rubbing vanilla scented lotion on your hands etc when you get a craving works to sooth the need for snacking. I tried it and it works. You can drink water to help with snacking and make sure you eat a balanced meal no sooner than 2 hours before you go to sleep. Then have a balanced breakfast asap in the morning. You have to reteach your body how to signal you to eat.

Figure out first why you are eating? Do you have insomnia and there's nothing else to do, is it for emotional reasons, or is it to cope with stress? Find out why you're eating and deal with that and the middle of the night snacking will end.

It kind of depends on how late you stay up and when your last meal was. (Like if I need to stay up until 3 am then I eat a midnight meal, but if I sleep before midnight I don't eat anything.)

Drink warm milk right before you sleep -- it will help you sleep and will provide you with some protein in your stomach.

If you sleep when you're a little hungry, it will help you sleep better too, and is healthy (believe it or not!). Middle of the night snacking and then sleeping right after encourages fat build-up and eventually weight gain b/c all those calories are not immediately used and stored instead. (That itself motivates me to stay away from food before I sleep!)

well do not keep any of your favorite snacks around and you have to have will power instead have something to drink. i have a cup of decafe tea. If you resist after about a week you will have broken the habit.

Eat a more filling supper and you won't feel so hungry later on. If at all possible don't go into the kitchen and open the cupboards and fridge.

nothing but water should touch your lips after 6:00 p.m. just buy heathy snacks like fruit & popcorn ( no butter ) I know it is so hard but we all need to try harder.It can be done.

Put a picture of how you want to look on the fridge, when you feel hungry look at the picture and have a glass or bottle of water.

well mid note snax make u fat. umm.... don't wake up. eat a more filling dinner?!! have a glass of ice water instead.
