Any one here ever eat balut? Its a fermented egg that has a baby chicken or duck in it. I tried it last month and I thought it was pretty good. what did you think?

I like the yellow stuff, it's pretty good (especially with a little salt). The duck part tastes ok, but I can't help but feel queasy when I see the beak, the little feathers...!

I don't think it's fermented at all, balut is a boiled fertilized duck egg. =)

I'm half philippina and have tried a few weird philippino foods but never that! I think balut is nasty just hearing about it, never mind seeing or tasting it.

I enjoy Balut though i never look at it before i eat it. Nice with a little vinegar, soya and calamansi

I hate it when I crack an egg and find bits of "chicks" already partially grown...I would never eat that! Tried quail eggs a couple of times, but they made me sick....

I've had it. It's OK, not great.

I wouldn't specifically go after it. I'd rather just have adobo.
