I have a friend whose female dog would hump my leg sometimes. Guess it's just dog nature! I also had a male dog who used to hump my other male dog years ago. I think it was because it was the only dog available at the time. Sort of like Midnight Express for dogs. I'm not sure why he didn't try humping us humans. I guess it depends on the dog, really.

They just want to be friendly. If you let him hump, he will shoot friendly fluids onto your leg. Then when you leave there and go somewhere else, other male dogs will run up to you and sniff your leg. If they start to lift up one back leg and get close to you, stand very still and a warm sensation will be imparted to you. And the owner will say " Oh isn't that just too cute "

The dog is trying to establish his or her dominance over the human. The dog does not respect the humans authority and thinks that he is in charge.

What makes them do it is beside the point, I am sure what you want is to make him stop, This may sound blunt but the only way to break him of it is to grab his junk and squeeze everytime he does it! do it 3 times then he will stop!
