That may very well be the dumbest question I've ever seen.
Yeah, and then, while we're at it, we'll liberate Christians by FORCING them to WORSHIP THE DEVIL!
It's their RELIGION! Allow people to practice their religion the way they've been taught, and they won't try to kill you.

I think it would be good, if Muslim women can get out of this veil/hijab obligation. There are thousands of Muslim women who does not use veil all the time, only occasionally. I am sure there are also many-many women who wants to get out. At the same time there are many women who do feel safe and comfortable with the veil/hijab.
So forcing will not be a good idea, but knowledge of liberation and possibility of liberation can be given. Then it is up to them to take it or leave it. After all the Muslim women, have so beautiful faces. It is pity that they keep it close under veil/hijab.

The misconception is that women who wear hijab are oppressed. Muslim women who wear hijab feel more liberated than many other women. There is no slavery to their own sexuality and men (and women) interact with them in a manner that is respectful. Every opportunity that is presented to a Muslim woman is earned, it has nothing to do with her physical self, but rather what she genuinely capable of.
I should know, I am a Muslim woman, a professional, I also wear hijab and I live in the west.
Why should anyone decide that they have to right to free people by what they assume to be oppressive? People have to right to choose and we all should respect that, whether we understand it or not.

Would you force a nun to remove her head covering to liberate her? Probably not because she does it by choice. Muslim women are naturally comfortable by wearing the hijab around men. They feel shy without it. You need to realize, Muslim women may view you as not being liberated because you do not wear a scarf, not the other way around.
The Holy Qur'an says: There is no compulsion in religion. This means, no one can or should force you to practice religion. It is a matter of freewill.

Sure. After that we can rip crosses off the necks of Christians and yamulkas off the heads of Jews. Part of freedom of religion is giving women the choice of how they observe their religion. I would never wear one, but to some women, they prefer it. It's not the veil or hijab itself that I'm concerned about. It's the nature of forcing someone to do anything they don't want to do. Are you really interested in fighting oppression by oppressing them with perhaps unwanted Western views?

What kind of question is this? Liberate??? Woman are not forced to wear veils. If they do then it is wrong and against what the Noble Quran says. Many Muslim Women are happy wearing the hijab and proud to show their identity.

A woman can not be forced to wear the Hijab it must be her choice. Many Muslim women do not wear them.
Maybe you should research more to find the true meaning of veiling. My beauty is for my husband not any other man. Why would I need attention for another man that was not my husband.

If it is God's will, let them stay within the veil. Why do you want to unveil them. Liberty is a state of mind. If someone enjoys liberty within the veil, it is better. For those who feel the veil as an oppression, they need to be liberated. (I am not a Muslim).
The veil is being misused by many terrorists today. This should be controlled or unveiled by law.

Many muslim women consider it an honor to wear the veil or Hijab. I believe it should be their choice, not forced upon them.

No. you wouldn't dare to take out the veil of a Muslim woman by force, because you will not even dare to touch her!
Only those who is weak in faith will let you to do whatever you wish!.
Now Let me ask you:
Who do you respect more? a woman who is completely or partially naked and put up their photos on the net or come up on T.V's or a woman who is covered and treats you as a brother .
Will you respect the first one or you will like to play with her.
Which of them will you like to ask for advise, discuss, talk, share knowledge etc.
and which one would you just play with an throw off later?
Ask the first one whether she is happy in her life and you will get the answer.that she feels ignored, unhappy, used as a commercial item...etc. This is the one who should be liberated from the cruelty of men.
Ask the second one and you will get an answer of that yes she is happy with the way of her dressing.
so if they are happy with that, why to liberate them?

Laura,
You need to look at things from a Muslim perspective. Why should they WANT the trash that is going on in America for their women? Sex, drugs, rock n' roll----capitalism where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer....where people are going to bed hungry at night and we have commericals on TV where cats are eating out of crystal gobletts?
Just saying that for some women---what your suggesting is just more oppression, only in a different form.
