What would you do if a guy you like ALOT likes you back but is scared to death of your dad and now he is hanging out with your BROTHERS ex-girlfriend and is tellin u about that girl ???????? Try talking to your dad to see if he is ok with you dating this guy. If he seems reasonable, then let your guy know that you're dad isn't so scary after all. Maybe invite your guy over to hang out when your dad is home and they can break the ice. Watch a movie in the living room with your guy or just hang out, so your dad can sort of see how he acts. If you really like this guy, don't give up! Try not to act too jealous around him when he talks about her. Just listen for a minute then subtly change the subject. But find a way to spend time with him. Good luck!

Believe me, he is not that scared of your dad. There are ways he can get around him to see you. If he likes you so much, he wouldn't be hanging out with this other girl, and then bragging about it. What has your dad ever done to this guy? All my boyfriends were scared of my dad, til they got to know him. But the rule was, you want to date my daughter you come in and sit and talk with me first. I almost died or embarrassment with some of my dad's questions. But that only last a few minutes and ya'll can laugh about it later. If your dad hasn't done anything to make him scared, he should stand up for you if he really cares. Sounds to me like he would rather take the easy way out, hanging out with that other girl who's father may not even care what she's doing. Tell him to get over his fear, or get lost. Sorry to say, but it sounds like he is already gone. Go out and find you a nice guy that will respect you and go in and get to know your folks. Good luck to you.

Sounds like from the way he is acting, he has a good reason to be afraid of your dad. Wait for the guys who will treat you better (and not put other girls in your face to make you jealous). You should find out what your parents think of him and why.

To be honest, he kind of sounds like a jerk. If he really liked you, he wouldn't be such a wuss and would just ask you out. If he's hanging out with another girl and telling you all about her, then he probably is just trying to make you jealous. He should grow up and stop playing games.

Plan a surprise meeting between your dad and him...hehehe...oh man that should be fun. Tell your dad, you want to go out to lunch or something and get him to go with you. And then tell the guy independently that you want to meet him for lunch and then just show up with your dad...he won't be able to get out of it and he will have to sit through it.

Sounds to me like your Dad may be up on what line this fella is trying to feed you. If he's scared of Dad, that could be a good thing. Focus on school.

we're in common. I just dumped a guy cuz he asked another girl out and he was about to dump me cuz i told him in 4th grade my dad got a a letter from these twins that liked me and he hunted them down. so now i don't tell my parents anything. so they don't scare my boy friends

well, just get over him and move on with your life. find someone who isn't afraid of your dad. that's how my husband got me. my family is always talking **** about him before we got marrie, but he didn't care about what they said about him, because he loves me for who I am, and it's not my family who he's marrying to. Most guys if that happen to them, they'd just turn their heads around and walk away from me because of my family, but my husband (boyfriend/fiance at the time) didn't give up, that's how much he loves me. If your guy is serious about liking you, he shouldn't hit on your brother's ex-girlfriend, any guy who just gives up isn't good enough for you.

guys were always scared of my dad when i was younger, he's a prison guard at a maximum security prison, but i just told them to get over it and dated them anyway, there shouldnt be a prob unless this guy is doing things he shouldnt
