I quit smoking 3 years ago and I feel just like you. My doctor told that I need 12 or 14 years to "clean" my lungs, but only from this sensation (smoked).
Congratulations for this 57 days.

What you're experiencing is very normal. I've been smoke free for about two years now, and I can't remember how long it took, but I know it took a few months before I felt back to normal again. My husband said the same thing. But even now neither one of us is quite normal. I still get more winded when I exercise than I did before I started smoking. I think it'll take like 7 years before your lungs will completely clear themselves out. Congrats on having quit!!

Your lungs will not always feel like crap.
I stopped after smoking for 24 years 15 years ago and my lungs felt the same way. With me it lasted for several months and this is normal. And as a result of my smoking I got asthma, but because it was caused by the smoking it went away after a period of time.
No matter what method you are using to stop, it should be done along with regular visits with your doctor. Just so he can monitor what's going on with your body.
Be patient. "This too will pass."

Really, I've done it 30+ days twice and felt much better within three weeks
I also don't have craving anymore
So long as the world don't poop on me!
It does take about 4 - 7 years to totally clear up your lungs, so don't expect instant results.
But how do your legs feels?
Does your lungs have more power.
Do you cough less!
I sure did!

You should feel better each day you do not smoke one day at a time, It depends on how long you smoked before you decided to stop. 57 days of not smoking you should be PROUD OF YOURSELF. HATS OFF WAY TO GO, Now do not start back, YOUR BODY HAS TO ADJUST TO YOU NOT SMOKING THAT'S ALL. Take Care drink Plenty of water.

Months even years. Depends on how much you smoked, how long you smoked, how much exercise you are getting to work out the tar, etc.
To quit smoking and think your body heals instantly is total myth. From what I know, heard and seen first hand, for every year you smoke, it takes the same time to remove it. So if you smoked for 10 years, expect 10 years before its all out for the most part.

you have to work your lungs to strenghen them up. walking 30 minutes a day will help out. for some, they smoked so long it takes time for your body to adjust and you may also have a lung condition your not aware of. have a pft test done. pulmonary function test.

Your lungs will always feel like complete crap.
You should not have started the nasty habit in the first place.
But congrats on the 57 days! Keep it up!

It takes months for your lungs to purify themselves. It depends on how many years you smoked, too.

It is not abnormal. Depending on how much and how long you smoked, it may take a while yet for all to get back to normal.
