You should tell your "friend" that he should trust what she is saying. Why should he be concerned about that? She obviously told him about it. Besides, why doesn't he think she could have done that to protect them from having any children sooner than they want? It takes 3 months for "the pill" to be considered stable enough to not need back up methods of birth control, like a condom. Even though she is out of state, are they never gonna see each other again? She is just being a responsible woman and taking all reasonable precautions. And it could also be for medical reasons other than birth control.

There are several reasons they put young girls on birth control. Some are put on the pill to regulate their periods and others because it helps clear up their skin, and I'm sure there are other hormonal reasons. Tell him to come right out and ask her. If she has a good answer and has never given him any reason to doubt her, he needs to drop it. I've heard of parents putting young girls on the pill, even if they are not sexually active, just to be safe. But no, you don't have to be sexually active. Lots of women who are in between boyfriends don't just stop taking the pill.

No, not at all!
A woman goes on the birth control pill for other reasons besides not getting pregnant. The pill also regulates a woman's menstrual cycle, and aids women with medical conditions such as cysts.
Have you ever thought that maybe she's on it in case she and your friend have sex one day? Going on the pill is not something one decides to do when she wakes up in the morning. If she has made the decision to have sex, or is even thinking about having sex, maybe she only wants to be responsible and prepared as condoms are not %100.
Shame on you for getting involved in your friends', girlfriends personal, and medical life!

Birth control should be used for birth control. The age of free sex brought about birth control. However as Marshal states some women use it to control menstrual cycle. Depoprevara is a drug used for this reason commonly. Just ask her if it really bothers you. It shouldn't though.

Birth Control is great, it gives a woman control of when their period comes, it lets girls skip a period if they want and it clears up acne. Plus, birth control does not work immediately, so if a girl is between guys, or planning to have sex in the future, they can reduce their chances of getting pregnate when they do want to have sex.
I am not saying this woman is trustworthy, but I know a lot of women on birth control who aren't having sex.

Why I'm on birth control and am not having sex, nor am I in a relationship. Birth control helps regulate periods and lessens the cramping, it also helps with acne. There must be another reason why he is suspicious of her.

There are three reasons I can think of.
1. She is in fact sexually active.
2. She anticipates being sexually active.
3. She takes birth control to not have a period (for convenience).

Women take birth control for other reasons. Sometime to regulate the periods. Sometimes for hormonal imbalances. If she gives him any reason to distrust her then he should move on. But don't let the birth control pills be the reason. There is no direct correlation. Birthcontrol= sex.... not necessarily

No not necessarily. Some women take if for years and break up with their partner and continue to take it because they have been in the habit of taking it. They think if they find a guy they want to be ready. Stopping can mess up your cycle. I would trust her on this but USE A CONDOM to prevent pregnancies and STD's. Anytime you dont want a baby its better to use two back up methods. Besides 25% of hispanics and 35% of whites have genital type II herpes, and 80% dont know they have it. Once you get it there is no cure and you will have it the rest of your life.
