Is it OK to use "expériences" in the plural to express the English:
"I don't have a lot of experience in this area". Or should it only be used in the singular: expérience?

No S at expérience. It would be like saying I have no experience in English. The word expérience is rarely written with an S in French. You would put one if you put les, des, plusieurs ( many ) in front ( they are all plural )

In English I think it's only used as singular. But I can see that the plural would be OK in French. It's like "much experience" in English but would be "many experiences" in French. If you mean more than one experience. Just my opinion. Not a verified answer 'though I did major in French many years ago.

Use it in the singular, it makes more sense. If you want to use the plural form, you could say "I haven't had many experiences."

C'est Singulier. I do not have a lot of experience in this area. This is how one would say it in English.

I think you want "Je n'ai pas beaucoup d'experience".

English is weird.

Any of these sentences make sense:

one area:
"I don't have alot of experience in this area."
"I don't have alot of experiences in this area."

two or more areas:
"I don't have alot of experience in these areas."
"I don't have alot of experiences in these areas."

Have fun with grammer.
