Is is usually a sign of insecurity. Nervousness is another one. She may want to "fit" in and really doesn't know how to act herself. It may be annoying to others as well. talk to her, tell her how you feel. try to alleviate some of that insecurity.. I had a CNA once and every time I tried to discipline him for something, he always laughed and his face got red. For him,.it was what is called a nervous tick. That was how he dealt with everything. Let your friend know she will always be your friend and support her. If she has been doing this a long time, it may tale a while before she can finally control herself. It will happen, just give it time.

It's not really normal, but I guess we all have our quirks. Inappropriate giggling or laughing is usually a sign of insecurity or nervousness.

Some entire families do it, it becomes habit. Or maybe she is really timid inside and trying to overcome it... Don't be annoyed with her, look at it as part of who she is, everyone has quirks.

i know a few people like that, but no matter what they say, they laugh. it is a mental disorder. part of bi-polar to an extent.

I would haveto meet her. My first guess is that she may
be very shy and this is a nervous reaction.
