NEVER!

Yes. I've been cutting mine for almost a year now. Adding layers and such. It all depends on the person though. As long as you have a steady hand and good judgement of where the hair will lay after it's cut, I think it could be possible with anyone. I used to work in a hair salon and watched them do hair all the time.

Did you cut your hair in the picture? With mens hair, when it involves more than just hair clippers/buzzers it gets a little tricky. The front won't be hard, but once you get to the back (since it's short) it'll be more difficult. A man's haircut (using scizzors) is basically all layering. To layer, grab a small section, about 1/2 an inch wide and 1-2 inches long and hold out parallel to the area of scalp from where it came and cut the hairs straight across. Then do this to the rest of your hair and all you have left to do is the area above your ears and back of neck. This can be done with clippers, and I would suggest not going as high above your ears like in the picture. Cut it so the hairs and edge of ear meet.

Hope that helps!

i do it all the time, ever since a professional took a chunk off my ear. the punk!

first it depends on how complicated a style you want. single-layer long hair or buzz cuts are easy as pie. a lot of people mess up bangs/other types of layers.

next it depends on how coordinated you are working through a mirror. some people get really disoriented so it ends up taking forever and they can cut weird angles where they don't mean to cut.

need: more than one mirror, preferably one you can hold/move and one stationary large one; comb; a razor or electric shaver; sharp hair scissors; something to catch your hair so it doesn't clog up your sink... plastic bag laid over the drain works; spray bottle to make hair lie flat; a plan on how you want your hair to look.

don't worry if you mess up, it grows back! and you will improve with practice. i kind of feel bad for the guy in your picture though.

by the way, the guy who cut my ear was distracted, talking to his boyfriend who was standing behind him on the other side of the room and occasionally turning to face him.... but he didn't stop cutting when he did this. ears bleed a lot, the guys both freaked out and refused to finish my haircut and tried to shove me out of the place with all these hair trimmings still on my neck and everything. but they "graciously" gave me the partial haircut for free. nice, eh?

I started cutting my own hair with a razor ten years ago and never walked into a barber shop since. Now I cut my two boys' hair too. It sure saves a lot of money.

Hell no, not in a million years...not only would I look awful, but I would probably cut my ear off. Scissors and I are not the best of friends.

it depends....you can always cut your own hair and since your a guy if you are just cutting it short then yes go for it it won't show too much if you have short hair, with girls if you cut your own hair its drastic though!

heck NO.most likely you will manage to screw it up and you will question yourself why in heck did i do this.go to some professionals and have them cut your hair.even the cheapest places are only like $13 or so.and hopefully you have that much or you can save up or borrow it.
