Very true. Those are the same people who say an animal should never go outside. I have two dogs, both very well cared-for, but they stay in the backyard. Animals are animals. Animals belong outside. If you choose to keep them inside, that's fine with me, but don't try to tell me I'm wrong for putting an animal outside in its natural habitat.
There are humans starving to death. NOTHING should have to starve to death, but if we hadn't made animals into "pets" they'd be hunting and providing their own food. People are more dificult...........they no longer have instincts to hunt and kill their food. People have intelligent thoughts and know exactly what's happening when they're starving. We should feed the humans first and THEN worry about the animals.
I love animals dearly, but there's just something wrong with our priorities when animals are more important than people.

Because humans have the power to help themselves and animals don't. Those people are starving yet they keep having sex and spitting out babies knowing they will watch them suffer and die. Most people in this country are poor because they are lazy. Animals do whatever it takes to survive, and they don't deserve to be tortured or slaughtered. I don't put children into these categories- it's not their fault that their parents are stupid, so I help them when I can, but I'll be damned if I'm giving any of the money I worked my butt off for to some whino on the corner to buy another 40.
By the way- how much money have YOU sent to Africa this year???
And to married- who says animals shouldn't go outside? You don't listen- we say animals should not be chained up outside all day long in the heat. There's a big difference. When it's cool out my dogs love to spend the whole day playing in my yard- but when it's very hot- I keep them in! Your "animals are animals" excuse is no good because if they weren't pets and if they lived in the wild, they could find shelter in a cool cave or go for a swim. In other words, they would be free to roam until they found a spot that was comfortable- not cooped up in a little yard.

Some people give to human causes and others to animal causes......we have no right to judge either of them. It's all about where your heart leads you. I try to give to both. Just because someone donates money to the ASPCA doesn't mean they don't want to help their "brother in humanity".....in fact they are being quite humane. Yes, there are starving people in Africa, and in the US......but there are great cruelties going on in the animal world as well that need to be addressed. Don't judge....just worry about what YOU are doing to help the issue.

Now THAT'S one of the best ideas I've heard lately, after hearing all those hollywood do-gooders and other "celebrity" do-gooders who speak so highly of their contributions to animal charities. I must admit, however, that africa would be the last place I'd donate to since they have shown centuries of pathetic management of their cultures, societies, tribes, nations, money and food. The same is true of my thoughts to asian and south american charities. What about North American "charity" for people who have a proven track record of good management but have truly "fallen on hard times" and just need a hand up, and not perennial welfare slobs who do nothing but stand in bread lines because they're too damn lazy to do anything else. Now THAT would be a charity that might not make some sympathetic poster but would be effective, and redemptive assistance. God Bless you.

First of all let me say People breed those animals and didn't take care of them be it the new owner or an older person who got sick my point is why should they suffer because of ignorance or their owners getting sick they can't get their own food as another person can. Second there are plenty of people staving in the US so why would u support some other country when there are plenty of people here to help. If u were an animal wouldn't u want someone to help you out since u really can help urself apart from getting into people's garbage and then maybe get shot at because u were hungry!

Some donate money, some donate time, or talents, or used clothing.....Some to humans, some to animals, some to trust funds for medical research, or building funds, or food closets. There are so many places and organizations that need assistance and have campaigns to raise money. Most of them are worthy causes and deserve help. Unfortunately, most of us can't afford to help all of them. So choose 1 or 2 that are your favorites, and if you don't have money to give, volunteer some time. It's always good to help.

The one absolute, unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world-the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous-is his dog.....He will kiss the hand that had no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world....When all other friends desert, he remains.
I dedicate this to my beloved pitbull LuLu whom I rescued from the Liberty Animal Shelter in Jersey City, New Jersey after she was abused and neglected by humans.
Save humans but save animals too. Give to your local shelter or volunteer your time.

Humans are a parasite on this planet, stealing the natural habitat from the animals. The least we could do is try to help them, when it's our fault their environment is screwed up to begin with. Besides, without the animals, people can't eat. (If you're thinking we can eat vegetables, animals play a large part in the pollenization, fertilization, etc. of plants.)
No, I wouldn't mind if other people thought about me this way.

Because we are over the animals and in many cases let them over populate and should care for them. I would say donate to both. People are more important, but animals are important too.

Could you imagine how many pounds of food are thrown away each day by restraunts and grocery stores?
Of course, I'm sure you donate 10% of your paycheck to helping the needy, right?
It's all a huge cycle of bullshit if you ask me.
