These 'orbs' are not anything supernatural, or even weird. This is just the reflection from dust particles when a picture is taken with a flash. You can re-create something like it yourself if you stir up a ton of dust (throwing flour or something would probably work) in a darkened room and take a picture with flash immediately after.

What speed of film were you using? Using a high speed such as 1600 or 3200 will produce 'noise' on your film. The noise is represented by multiple colored spots (not just white) over the image and specifically in the darker areas of the image.

It doesn't sound like flash reflection as it's not usually an orb, but a star shaped reflection. Also, this is a pretty noticable notion to anyone who has ever picked up a camera. Flash reflection will only appear in reflective surfaces (windows, mirrors, water, etc.)

Where are these orbs appearing mainly? Are they just white? Is it film or digital? Do you have a copy of this image on the internet? Were you using a flash (on-camera or external)? What kind of camera are you using? What speed of film are you using?

For the young lady above... for having a masters in photography you jumped to conclusions awful fast without knowing the facts behind the question.

If you believe in orbs, scan the image & send it to George Nory & Art Bell, hosts of the radio program "Coast to Coast". It's a very popular late night radio program that investigates U.F.O.s & many other phenomenons. They put photos of orbs up on their website that people have sent in. Sometimes, their "experts" give opinions on what they are.

I'm no phenomenon expert, just a professional artist, with a master's degree in photography..........and I say they are just lighting spots & reflections. But what the h e l l do I know?
