I would say Cathay, definitely. They have overall the best service I have ever experienced, and have a great overall product, and it pretty much tops anything I have experienced. Can't comment on SIA, Thai or Malaysia as I haven't flown them but...
>SIA has been getting quite a few comments on Skytrax not being the airline with the "service other airlines talk about" anymore..
>Malaysia have won best cabin staff of the year
>Thai have won quite a few awards
>Cathay have won Airline of the year 2003, 2005, ATW Airline of the year 2006, Best lounges for first and business class 2006 and much more... Those are the ones I can remember.

Well, seems like the opinions are rather splitted. If you are travelling short haul, I guess the difference would have been insignificant. Allow me to quote some incidents I personally witness and read from the papers regarding SIA & Cathay respectively. On SIA flight, if you so unlucky had your personal LCD spoilt, they compensate you with US$50, no question asked, this was what I personally witnessed some years ago. Recently, a Singapore reader express her grievances travelling Cathay when she was compensated US$25 over a similiar incident, that even after the flight attendant unsuccessfully convincing her to take a 'relatively free' liquor and after some rounds of insults..
My last long haul experience with MAS was OK, not as comfortable as SIA or Cathay, but that was 10 years ago, and I believe they have substantially improved since then.
Sorry, did not have a chance to fly Thai.. so cannot comment on that.
So Thai apart, I would still stick with SIA, for their inflight entertainment, newer fleet of airplanes, on board services and food.

Thai and SIA are about the same, they both have pro and con.
Thai services considered to be better and more gentle i.e. more like asian style, while SIA is more like western (thai and singaporean characters).
Foods and drinks are about the same (wine and beer are available for free). SIA has TV monitor installed at the back of your front seat. Thai has new wider economy seat design installed but no individual monitor for short haul flight.
MAS would rank 3rd.. Sorry can't comment on Cathay, as I stop flying with it for over 10 yrs, there would be some significant improvement.

Depends really...from personal experience I would say :-
1/ Malaysia
2/ Singapore (but its a close call and it was the food that swung it)
3/ Thai
4/ Cathay

i've been on all these airlines except for thai, so i can't give you my aspects of it. but between cathay, singapore and malaysia, i'd say malaysia provides the best service in eco. class, then singapore and finally cathay. malaysia provides better legroom in their cabin than cathay/sing, the service is great and the food is good too.

I think it would be between Thai and Singapore and the deciding factor would be in your personal preferences to what you consider best service.

I flew over the Pacific with Cathay Pacific two times. they are the suitable-high quality airline, better luxury status. you'll have between the comfiest rides over the Pacific, so surely relax and luxuriate in it! it really is surely a good adventure in case you are able to save your self occupied/asleep for 14 hours with their tremendous in-flight leisure platforms. (A plethora of videos, television shows, music, video games, and so on). My very last flight with China Air had no longer something. I stared on the decrease back of the seat in the front of me for 14 hours. do not take your flight with none interest, you receive a reliable one!
