This is by far the best, and believe me I've tried them all.

Apple Crisp

4 c. peeled, sliced apples
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water

Place sliced apples in bottom of greased baking dish. Mix dry ingredients; sprinkle over apples. Pour water over apples.

3/4 c. rolled oats
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine

Mix flour, oats and sugars. Cut in margarine with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle crumbs over apples. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon over top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

1 hour 35 minutes 20 mins prep
Preheat oven to 350.
To make the filling--In a 9-inch pie pan that's 2 inches deep (or a similar baking pan), toss the apples with the sugar to taste, cinnamon, and flour.
To make the topping--In a medium bowl, mix together all the topping ingredients with your fingers or a pastry cutter until small pebbly pieces of butter are distributed throughout the mixture.
Sprinkle the entire mixture over the apples.
Bake until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling and tender, about 1 hour and 15 min.
for a large crisp and 1 hour for individual crisps.
Cool slightly before serving.
You can make individual crisps by dividing the filling and topping among six ramekins or individual gratin dishes.
Serve with heavy cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Serves six.

I use this on top of any in-season fruit to make yummy crips! Be sure to toss your apples in a little lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.

Streusel Topping

3/4 cup flour, divided
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup butter or margarine

Toss ¼ cup flour w/ fruit. Mix remaining ingredients (including ½ cup flour) to make streusel topping. Bake at 350ºF for 35-40 min.
