Its drinking ice water that makes your body work harder because it has to warm it to digest it, and it can help you burn calories

I've read that drinking cold water burns more calories than hot. Because the body has to use calories to heat the cold water in the stomach, calories are consumed.

So does drinking ice water. Both extremes take calories to make the contents of your stomach adjust to body temp. It is negligible however. Better to watch what you eat and drink plenty of water regardless of the temp! Not only that, you may be subjecting yourself to harmful burns or blisters if you drink things too hot. Do the ice water if anything. Best wishes.

No, waters good to drink not nessesarily hot water, but you burn calories when your body burns the nutrients that youve digested during excersise - - - want to cut calories, lots of grapes and fresh fruit like that they've got fast digestive carbs as your snack instead of ice cream or what ever your vice is

It's ice water or very cold water that actually burns a few more calories than cool or room temp water. It's because your body does more work to heat it up (to tummy temp) when it first hits your gut. It doesn't really burn enough extra calories to matter though.

Yeah but cold water does too, your body has to get either back to body temperature. Now I hear celery actually takes more calories to burn than it has and it's a natural diuretic which helps with bloating so try that out. My mom loves it as a diet aid.

no its cold water, but its really not a significant amount of calories, it works out at maybe 5-10 calories per liter whereas drinking green tea every day, according to studies, can make you burn an extra 70-120 cals a day.

the cleansing/detoxing diet I'm doing now claims the opposite; that I have to ALWAYS drink ice cold water as this forces the body to burn more calories to warm up the water to use & digest it.
