I answered this under "Science", but I just noticed that you put it here also. Did you try contacting Mark Bittner? I'm dying to know whether or not he responds to you. My previous answer:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Send an e-mail to Mark Bittner and ask him. He wrote the book "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill" and he was the central character in the documentary film with the same title and (as you'll see if you watch it) he has a lot of experience dealing with wild parrots living in an American city (San Francisco) and he has studied them extensively.
I strongly recommend watching that movie (you can rent it at Netflix, for example) and/or reading the book. Once you watch it, you may change your mind about wanting to get rid of the parrots :)
I put links below under "Sources" for the film and to a page with Mark Bittner's e-mail address.

not much..unless some hawks move into the area. They can be quite noisy....we have some wild populations here in So. Cal. Where are you? Also know there are populations in Florida and Texas as well.

Humm you must be in Chicago!! They have been going in and out of a tree that's in my yard. But I think my two dogs are discouraging to them. How about investing in a cat near the tree where they are. I know in one neighborhood when the city cut down the tree the parrots left that area! Good Luck

Release an owl, or play a tape recorder of you favorite music until they learn to imitate that instead, also a dog will bark at noisy birds usually

where do you live? If you live on the eastern seaboard, they could be quakers. I don't think you will drive them away. they are crop feeders and will hang where there is crop food. they are loud and noisey, but if you can get a baby, can learn to talk and make nice, demanding pets. ~ smile ~ Sherry
