According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Adrenaline is one sure way to do this. If anxiety causes you to get a spurt of adrenaline, then low blood sugar is probably the cause.
Suggestion? The next time you feel yourself worrying, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna (salmon is better) or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, an apple, or some carrots/celery, and also some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something active for about 30 minutes, such as singing or walking or mild exercise. You may find your brain has cleared and you are able to make a list of your worries and how to solve them.
Chronic low blood sugar can also cause self-esteem problems, anger management problems and a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.

I strongly recommend reading Hugh Prather's book, The Little Book of Letting Go. It is Christianity-based because Prather is a minister, but even if you're not Christian, it can help your life change a lot. There's an entire chapter on "letting go of worry," and Prather makes so many valid points that you will find yourself beginning to stop worrying as you're reading. Best of luck!

Thats a toughie. Why are you worrying? Is it about things that need to be worried about, or just ... stuff. I used to worry about everything. Turned out, I had depression and it was causing me so much anxiety I couldnt tun off the worry.
When I got help, I was able to relax.
And making up my mind not to worry about things I cant do anything about. Thats not easy, but it can be done. I had to keep telling myself, 'theres nothing I can do about it, so I have to not worry.'

Get the DVD of "Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb." It's Stanley Kubrick's 1964 dark comedy that will help you forget your troubles and laugh.

Sometimes it helps to sit and write down all the things you are worried about, and then make a list of possible solutions.
On paper, it doesn't look so big.

the best thing to do is share your worry with someone, or write it down in a journal. i have the same problem and it always feels good to let my feeling out, even if it is over the internet on my blog. bottling feelings and thoughts up will only get worse!

I have really bad anxiety. I have good days and bad. It really depends on the meds you take and how much sleep you get. Breathing deeply for one minute really helps (sometimes).Resolving the issues that make me worry works better.
