I am single and I have had a lot of people tell me to try online dating. I just don't know if I should trust online dating or not? I was thinking about joining match.com?

Basically, you use common sense. If you feel that someone does not make you feel quite right, then follow those instincts. Don't be too eager to give out your phone# , your e mail address, last name, home address, or any kind of information that links to you.

Get a feel of what that person is like before agreeing to go out on a date with him.
If you do choose to meet someone in person, meet in a good safe place.DO NOT allow him to pick you up. You need to arrange to meet someone. A mall ,a restaurant or any public place where there are a lot of people. If he is hesitant about that, then tell him NO

I said I would never do it, but I met my fiancee that way and we are both very happy. I love him very much. Many people have had success. They are now finding that getting to know someone online is better than meeting them for the first time in person because you get to know them for who they are and not WHAT THEY ARE

Good luck and be careful

Hi, I am a little of weary of online dating, although I have tried it, I believe everybody on those sites aren't wierd. Some may just be a little shy and find it easier to find someone they can get to know through chatting and talking on the phone before meeting. Who knows though you have to be careful. Not just guys on those sites are weird some of the girls are too that is for sure I have found out. Match.com seems like one of the better dating sites just make sure to not put to much information out there.

No, it isn't safe. Dating at all isn't safe. However, sometimes you have to take some chances. At least with something like match.com, you can get some kind of an idea about the person from their profile (which could be a little safer than meeting someone at a bar).

Be safe and don't devulge too much information at once. Match.com is a nice place to meet people, but a lot of them are weird.

I tried match.com once and ended up with nothing but men who wanted to get into my pants.

After talking to them once or twice online and the only thing they wanted to talk about was sex........I stopped talking to them.

The one and only man that I agreed to actually meet up with for a cup of coffee............his idea and my idea of a cup of coffee where entirely different.

online dating isn't for everyone. and it's not any safer than a random chat room. ppl can put in face info and fake pictures. the thing about online dating is that ppl can lie wayyyy to easily. but like i said, it's not for everyone. some ppl like it. me, no.

I wouldn't trust the Internet ....it's were creepy people hang out all day.But then occasionally you do find people that aren't and you don't know it. So if it was me, I'd go hang out with my girlfriends. At least there I'd know i was safe.

depends on who you meet....i would listen to your gut about the person before actually meeting them...talk to them online and on the phone for a while before meeting them...and make sure you have pictures of them, too
