Hello, is Victoria there? This is _____. I met her at camp last week."

Hola, esta Victoria? Soy _____, la conoci en el campamento la semana pasada.

Then if they say: "Hold on let me check" or "no, she'll be back later"
Hold on, let me check = Un momento, dejame ver.
No, she´ll be back later = No, ella regresara mas tarde.

If she is not there u can say, gracias le llamare despues (thank you, i will call her later).

But if she only speak Spanish you are going to need more help so you can talk to her.

Hola, se encuentra Victoria. Mi nombre es ________. Se encontre en camp la semana pasada (pronounced posaTHa).

If she is not there they will probably just say no, but then they may attempt to explain where she is and that is when you will start having problems, just say gracias and hang up. If she is there they may say something like "dejame aver" or "si se encuentra" or any number of things. Good luck to you and I would suggest brushing up on some very basic Spanish, there are several very good free resources on the Web or buy a good Spanish grammar book or a book on conversational Spanish. Again, good luck!

Why not ask a Spanish speaking friend for help? He can do the asking part, and then you can talk to your friend when she gets on the phone. That is how I handle things when i need to speak to one of my Hispanic employees on the phone.

Bueno, esta por ahi Victoria? Soy ____. Nos conocemos del campo la semana pasada.

If they say something, you might explain "Lo siento, pero no hablo espanol." I hope Victoria speaks English, otherwise you're in trouble.

Like this..."Hola! Está Victoria? Es_____. La conoci la semana pasada en el campamento.

If they say..."Ah si, espera un momento"(It means she's there, you just wait) or " No ella no esta ahora" (It means she's not home)
You say..."Gracias llamare mas tarde" That's "thanks i'll call back later"

If you need more translating you can contact me. I'm a translator.
Good Luck
