People's metabolism change all the time and that accounts for most of it, BUT the environment is changing also. Consider these facts in the last 20-30 years....
- Almost 6 BILLION people on the earth, Billions more than 30 years ago.
- We burn fossil fuels at a record ate, pumping all kinds of crap and particulates in the air.
- Our houses are most enclosed and less drafty that years ago...good for personal energy conservation, bad for internal environment and circulation of air. We breath the wastes of dust mites, bugs, old skin cells, and any bacteria that accompanies
- Our closed air conditioned environment tends to breed fungus and molds, which trigger allergies in most people.
- We tend to use wal to wall carpet instead of wood floors, which trap all the junk that we are allergic to...Vaccuuming helps but usually spreads more into the air. How many people wash their rugs regular? It is a cesspool of spores and allergens. New carpet has chemicals that trigger allergies.
I'l surprised that we all aren;t worse.

It's not sudden; been happening for years. The media is just playing it up a lot lately. I wasn't diagnosed with allergies until I was 40 and they were sudden AND asthma was thrown in just for 'kicks'. That was almost 20 years ago. A lot of people I knew back then were experiencing the same problems with allergies as I was.

I didn't start having allergies develop until 3 years ago. My eyes itched, watered, and got all puffy. People would ask if I had allergies and I said "I don't have allergies!". I was wrong, lol. I think it's the pollution we have, but not everyone has them. Hey, you never know.

I grew up in California and was never allergic to anything. Two years after moving to Oklahoma I'm allergic to cantaloupe, honeydew, kiwi, walnuts avacado, bananas, tree pollen and most especially DUST MITES.
It sucks.

I wouldn't know, but I bet it's from people using more antibacterial soaps and sanitizers. People don't build up immunity to certain types of bacteria and then have a reaction to it. That's just a guess, though, I'm no MD.

allergies can form at any time in life. Some were there and were milder in days gone by, but they have become more severe with age.
