Sorry, this seems a little complicated and you wrote it in some kind of teenager language so I don't quite understand.
Sounds like you and your friends share the same set of guys. Maybe it is time to find a new guy, one who loves you, doesn't lie and isn't an ex-boyfriend of your close friend.

Honest help? Well, he's well established as a liar if he's claimed he won't do it anymore. So yeah, he'll probably do it again.
Of course if he does lie to you then you can hardly play the victim. "OH NO! HE ACTED PRECISELY THE WAY HE ALWAYS HAS!"
Then again, you chose to go out with someone you had doubts about, so your motives here are pretty questionable. Don't look to the internet to excuse you.

Well... Is she "ok" with your dating her ex? Does she know, have you discussed it? How would you feel if she were to date your ex?
Be cautious. He says he doesn't lie anymore, and that could be his first lie to you. He certainly wouldn't tell you he still lies, if he is a liar, right?!
He may have changed his ways. Only time will tell. But, don't put your full trust in him just yet.
Be patient, take your time...
Good luck! :)

Did you really expect him to tell you he's still a liar? It's never good to go out with your girlfriend's ex. If you're friends, and he wasn't good to her, why would you want him? You sound young, so keep looking. There are plenty of guys out there that won't cause trouble between you and your best friend, and who you won't have to worry about lying to you.

its as simple as this, through your friend you have learned this side of this guy. why test it for your self? do you think that you are some how more capable of making this guy honest? hell no, he is who he is whether hes with you or your friend! if you are attracted in a sexual way then fill that need and send him down the road cause this dude will never make relationship material!!! if you were a real friend you would not have thought about dating this liar in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!

Girlfriends are hard to find. Guys are out there and a liar is a liar. Whatever he did to her he will do to you, feels good to think you can fix him or that you are special but guys like him are telling girls what they want to hear to get what he wants. Stay with your girlfriend, how would that make you feel if she did this to you. Think, god gave you a brain for just this reason.

Because you are betraying your friend. Dump him. Date someone your friends haven't already gone out with. Why would you want to date someone you know lies anyways?

why would you do that?
there are plenty of guys out there but your too lazy to look
so you get you freinds ex..
and then you wonder about possible complications?
so if you were smart
you dump him
find a new guy that only you know
and keep your freindship intact
