If you say "i love you" or "i miss you" too much, can it lose its meaning?

My husband and I have been together for 38 years and we still say I Love You every single day.
I don't feel as though those 3 words can even express what we'd really like to say. Love has no appropriate word.

I love you, has lost its meaning. over the years you drop 'hate' and'love' like a hot potato and it completely loses its meaning. Love and Hate are STRONG words. But you just use them like they have no meaning. But when you really love someone, it should have its meaning behind it, and you will say it when you mean it, not because they are leaving the room. but because they make you smile in the morning, and comfort you in hardship. Love isnt like a sticky note, you cant use it whenever you want to, because it loses its meaning and its strength to overcome someone.

so your answer is yes it can.

Absolutely. If you say it too much, then it just becomes second nature to say it to your partner. Then, after time, it just loses all meaning and you say it without even thinking about it. Moderation, I think, is best!

Yes they can both get "watered down" There is no limit on "showing" love and longing.

Words should be used sparingly. It is very nice to hear once in awhile. I would rather feel it than hear it.

depends on if you really mean it or not. my husband and i tell each other we love each other probably 50 times a day, and we mean it every time. i love telling him how i feel, and i love hearing him tell me the same.

if you both love each other then i don't think you can say it too much

does he act annoyed when you say it? if so, chances are he does not love you
that or he is anti-affectionate and you don't really want that do you?
