NOT FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN

No. There are other grills that do the same exact thing.
It's just that the company that produces these grills
wasn't getting enough publicity to promote their product.
They needed a spokesman. Not just any spokesman.
They needed a winner. Someone with international fame
that the public could recognize. Whom better than old
George. He regained the World's Heavy Weight Boxing
title at age 45. Not only that, he's a preacher as well!
Best of all, he's a very colorfull person. He's very sincere
and humble about his life's trials and accomplishments.
George Forman doesn't need to box any more to fund his
church. He makes tons of money promoting cooking
applainces that the company that hired him as their
spokesman, produces. He donates half his earnings to charity, by the way.
Go ahead and try the George Forman grill or the rosiestorie
oven or any other product that he promotes. Just remember
that you're buying the name.

Actually the George Foreman grill was originally supposed to be the Hulk Hogan grill. What happened was Hogan's manager called him to ask him if he wanted to do this deal with the grill, but unfortunately Hogan was picking his kids up from school, and by the time he called his manager back, Foreman had already picked it up. Poor Hulk, while Foreman is sitting on millions from the grill, Hogan had to ruin his body continuing to wrestle just to keep an income. But I guess it's not all bad. Hogan did get the deal for a blender that nobody wanted.

Man I got mine as a gift and never thought I'd use it, but i just LOVE IT! A buddy of mine was so impressed w/ the thing that went out and got a sunbeam indoor grill. At 1st glance it pretty much looks like the same thing, but it doesn't cook as evenly (the whole cooking surface doesn't heat up well) and it's not as non-stick as mt GF grill. Also the lame non-stick coating started peeling off very soon. Bite the bullet and pay the extra money for the real George Forman grill. You'll be happier w/ it in the long run.

Well, a few months ago I would have said NO. But, my husband went out and bought one anyway...even after I advised him that it would be a waste of money.
NOW, I love it. It's easy to clean after you cook on the grill...the food tastes much better than if it was cooked on a regular gas grill...and it's much healthier for you to have your food grilled on George Foreman's grill...the design of the grill plate lets the fat from the meat roll down the middle...and not into your food.
I grill fish and steaks. The chicken, when I cook it on the GF grill, cooks too quickly on the outside, but not on the inside. Personally, I think it's me. I've always had problems grilling chicken.
Oh well, if you are contemplating purchasing one, GO FOR IT! You'll not regret it.
Enjoy!

It is a two sided grill that sits on an angle with deep channels so grease flows away from cooking meat.

Actually I own one, and it is great for cooking hamburger4s and grilled cheese sandwiches. It rocks making bacon.

I love mine and use it every chance I get...steaks, bacon, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches or pannini, always finding some new way to use it...best Christmas present I ever got.
Now there is a new model that has removable plates as well as different surfaces so it would be even more useful. It is on my list for next Christmas.
You wouldn't happen to be Santa would you?

While it IS NOT like a frying pan, it is no longer unique because there are several companies making similar grills. It works really well also.

I had one and I hated it. It It seemed like it squeezed all of the juices out of the meat and made it dry adn tough. I have a Faberware electric grill and I love it. Everything always comes out moist and tender and not greasy.

I love mine. I don't know if it's better or worse than other things, but I like it because I don't have to use the actual grill. It's so much easier.
