When Jesus Christ lived on the earth, He organized His Church so that all people could receive His gospel and return one day to live with God, our Heavenly Father. After Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, His Apostles continued to receive revelation from Him on how to direct the work of His Church. However, after they were killed, members changed the teachings of the Church that He had established. While many good people and some truth remained, this Apostasy, or general falling away from the truth, brought about the withdrawal of the Church from the earth. The Apostle Peter prophesied that Jesus would restore His Church before His Second Coming (Acts 3:19–21).

Jesus Christ began to restore His Church in its fulness to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1820. It has grown to become a worldwide Church with over 12 million members. It has the same teachings and basic organization as the Church established by Jesus in New Testament times.

"Mormons" is a nickname for members of the LDS Church ie "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" Mormon was one of the prophets of a group of people who lived on the American Continent in ancient times. Joseph Smith, translated the ancient records of these people into a book called "The Book of Mormon"

There are many mistruths circulating around about Mormons which are untrue. One is that the Mormons do not believe in Jesus Christ and therefore are not Christians. This is flat not true. Jesus Christ is the basis for the LDS Church as stated in the church's name: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints"

Generally speaking Mormons are good people whom you would like to call your friends. The LDS Church is very well organized and does a lot of good for all people-Mormon and NonMormon.

Mormon is a religion that believe's in God, Jesus Christ, and the holy ghost. We have a prophet who pray to God and are basically his messenger. We are just normal people that believe in diffrent things. We do not practice poligamy, which many believe we do. We follow the ten comandments, so we can one day return to our Heavenly Father. We sin just like everyone else, and life is a journy for us just the same as others. We believe there are 3 kingdoms of Heaven, and we are trying to return to God and make it in the HIghest of Heaven. We believe that all churches have SOME truth to them. We do not hate anyone and we are just people.

Well first of all, how can you (iknowtruthis...) believe that about mormons? We are nice people and DO NOT PRACTICE POLIGAMY. They did in bible times to make sure every one could be taken care of, but we do not believe it is necessary to do so anymore. We do not have more than one mother in law and are not breeding like crazy. Mormons are kind people who believe in a lot of things. they are very spiritual and like to feel the holy ghost which we believe can give us guidance and help us make right choices as we struggle through life's trials and tribulations. We believe the book of mormon to be another scripture like the bible and to have importants words in there that we can use to affect our lives for the better. We also believe in the bible as most, and like to study the bible as well, because it has important truths that we can learn from as well. You know if you think mormons are like that then you should go to their church some time and see for yourself if you think they are still like that. The church building is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. try it out for yourself and see if you still think we are like that. I am a mormon and i love my religion and i believe it to be the true church. Dont be affended by this, but you may think that your religion is the best but i believe in my religion and i love every bit of it. I think my ward is very kind and open to people and we always try to make new commers feel welcome. I also believe in the Book of Mormon and believe it to be another testamant of Jesus Christ. Remember in the bible after Christ has been resurected and He says there are other sheep He has which are not of this fold. I believe He was talking about the people in the Book of Mormon because they saw Him. He appeared to them in his resurrected form and also performed miracles to them. I also believe He can appear to people today. I believe He appears to our prophets and their 12 appostles. That is what mormons are. Dont go accusing people before you really know them. It isnt the most politest thing to do. well, that is my synopsis about what Mormons are.

Mormons are a fringe lunatic sub-cult of Jesus Cultism. They tend to be right-wing and make it very hard to buy booze in Utah. Some of them have many wives (many mother's in-law too) and they breed like rutting weasels.
