Start breathing from your diaphragm. Instead of making your chest go in and out, breathe very slowly and focus on making your stomach go out. This will allow you body to get a full amount of oxygen and can short circuit the stress signal to the brain. A lot of times panic attacks occur because when you're building anxiety, you forget to breathe. Hyperventilating during a panic attack is your body's way of trying to get some oxygen.
Next, remind yourself that it doesn't last forever. I know...I used to have panic attacks and couldn't take the meds doctors give for them because I react to them. But the one thing I do know is they don't last, eventually they're over.
Third, see a counselor. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help as well as medications. If you're into natural meds, there are also herbs that can provide mild support.
You aren't dying, it's not the end of the world, and you can make it through this.

If this is your first panic attack, you most certainly do not need to be getting on medication. You've acknowledged that it was a panic attack, which is the first step. If you have an increasing amount of anxiety, then it might be beneficial for you to go see a counselor, but pumping yourself full of drugs doesn't cure panic attacks or panic disorder, it only allieviates the symptoms.

Dont worry just sit back and calm down and dont worry about the stresses of your life. I have gotten panic attacks before and i know they are no fun. The best thing to do is to do something that relaxes you!!
Well good luck

I used to get those all the time. It helps to breath in a paper bag to stop the rush of oxygen to your brain. Also tell yourself to stay calm and relaxed because you are not going to die even though it feels like it. I feel your pain Those are the worst things I have ever been through. You will be OK.

If you feel like crying you should do so. If this is your first one, know that there is help and you can take care of this.
Call a friend, take a bath, have a cup of tea....something simple to just be focusing on.
Don't ignore this but don't over-react either. Very common problem, lots of answers. You'll be OK, for sure.

I had panic attacks before, until they found out I had a vitamin B6 deficiency. This can cause depression and/or anxiety. Get a 50mg B6 supplement and see if it helps. It has really helped me a lot.

Get some meds fast.
Lorazipan disolves under the tongue and works fast to settle you down.
Thats a quick fix while your Doc works on the long term solution.
For immediate help...do somthing very physical, press ups, sit ups, go for a very fast walk or run.
