This guy has asked me work related questions about 5 different times. I never know the answer. I've even talked to my boss about it and she says it's really not a question I should know. He has flirted with me before, but when I've tried to make personal conversation with him he acts so nervous. And then doesn't talk to me or look at me for like a week but then he'll out of the blue ask me a question. Is he trying to make a fool out of me or what's his deal?

It just sounds like he's really nervous around you. That could be taken as a good sign, especially if he is interested in you. But, no, I don't think he's intentionally trying to make you look foolish. Just talk to him and try to get him to relax a bit and maybe he'll open up some. Good luck!

he's hardly trying to make you look like a fool. even he knows better than to do that if he's trying to get to know you. he's probably using these questions as a precursor to starting conversation with you because this is where the both of you have in common, your work. when you continue with conversation he probably is quite excited inside, but also having a hard time because he's nervous as heck. then to avoid embarassment he avoids you for days. aaah poor guy. if you find that personal conversation is uncomfortable for him, try talking in general, like your work, or that hot band coming to town, or the latest movie playing, whatever. be gentle with him as he's doing his best.
