Please, Please only answer if you are a hair professional of some kind.
When you straighten your hair, should you take a shower in the morning, blow dry it straight, then use a flat iron OR should you take a shower the night before, let it dry while you sleep, then flatiron it in the morning?
Also, how often can you use a flatiron without damaging your hair?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

You can do it either way. It will be less stress on the hair if you let it dry on its own. then straighten it in the morning. Protect the hair by using a flat iron spray. KMS has a great line called flat out. Spray it on each section before you use the flat iron. It protects it and helps straighten it so it is nice and smooth and it feels great. Or you can use flat out products on wet hair before you blow dry it straight. You should still use the flat out spray to protect it when you flat iron it. Kms flat out spray is one of our top selling items.

Ok, I'm a hair Professional! Well What you need to do is Wash Your hair at night. Let it dry over night, and flat iron it in the morning. This is because if you wash, dry, & iron, thats a lot of damage but if you spread it out and let it air dry over night, it won't damage as much. Also, if u are going to flat iron your hair, you need to straighten once or twice a week without damaging it! If you want it straight every day, you should get a perm. Hope This Helps! Good Luck! ♥

It depends....If your hair is course and really curly you may have to blow dry while straightening with a brush and then flat iron to get it really straight. If you can get it pretty straight without blowdrying go for washing it the night before (that's what I do). It'll save your hair the damage from the blowdryer. be careful not to pull your hair up much or too tight when wet though (hair is most fragile when wet).
Flat ironing does damage hair so get regular trims, try to wash and straighten hair less often, try to go curly (if you can) once in awhile, use the lowest heat setting you can on the flat iron and use a good conditioner.

You can blowdry then straighten right after. Use a smoothing or straightening product in your hair before you blowdry and while you are straightening with an iron use a shine spray lightly (not too much you don't want it to look greasy) on each section (might I suggest aquage beyond shine I find it's the best when it comes to the grease factor) then iron this will protect your hair from damage then one a week or two weeks use a clarifying shampoo to really clean out the products (rest of the time use a daily shampoo or something smoothing)

As long as your hair is completely dry it doesn't matter if you sleep on it first or not. As for how often can you straighten without damaging your hair... its an iron. It damages your hair EVERY time you use it. If you can avoid using it every single day its better. Make sure you get it trimmed regularly and you do conditioning treatments as well. Good Luck.

as far as when u shower and shampoo is preference, but use an anti-frizz shampoo and cond. then, use professional ( out of a salon)..im partical, products to protect your hair while blow drying and straightening your hair..try using med. heat from your dryer and go down the shaft of the hair instead of going against the cuticle, this will prevent frizz, then use a chi iron or ceramic iron for straightening process..follow with slicone based product to finish for shine.. as far as preventing damage.. dont do this process excessively..and use good shampoos and cond. ...happy straightening...

it doesnt matter when you flat iron your hair .you should only do it once a week .and use a flat iron smoother to protect it sleek by matrix is good .make sure the flat iron isnt pulling it .your stylist can check for breakage and use a new brush to blowdry .if your hair feels dry maybe you need a trim or profesional products.

However that you plan to do this, you should dry your hair completely before you iron it. Wet hair is vulnerable to damage and irons can be harsh.
