I play basketball and track already.
I want to stay in shape until b-ball starts up.
I've been running over the summer with the XC girls (and boys).

I pretty much suck @ running long distance (I do the 400 and 200 in track).
I don't know if I can handle another sport.
I might not be able to do Spanish Club and this volunteer thing like I wanted.

Hmm, it sounds like you have a decision to make! If you're already playing basketball and running track, and you've been running over the summer, you might consider letting the long distance thing go, you're doing enough, and you can do too much to push yourself and get hurt. Then you won't be able to play when the sports start up again.
There is such a thing as over training. It's important to let your body rest as well, I hope you're giving yourself a day or two a week for recovery? You can easily get the "overuse syndrome" where you just wear out your knees and have to quit for awhile, it's over training. It sounds like to me that cross country would push your knees too much and could possibly make you susceptible to injuries. Hope this helps...........
