What are good places to go in the evening for drinks and music. We are 60 so we like more sedate entertainment.
Also what are outstanding places in the area to visit besides the well known ones.

My friends who come to town like the view from the Roof Terrace of the Hotel Washington...it overlooks the mall, the White House. They serve both dinner and drinks. Nice way to start the evening.
For dinner I like Two Quail 320 Massachusetts Ave. NE, Washington, DC. (202) 543-8030 . Take a horse-drawn carriage ride following your meal.
Since I don't know your taste in music, it's hard to recommend a place. You probably know most of what's available in D.C., so I'll concentrate on Alexandria for music.
If you like jazz there's always 219 Basin Street on
219 King Street in Alexandria,.
If you like Irish music, how about Murphy's, 713 King Street in
Alexandria.
If you like bluegrass, there's Tiffany Tavern, also in Alexandriahttp://www.tiffanytavern.com/
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy yourself

Old town Alexandria is a nice place for an evening stroll and an ice cream. There are some nice pubs.

Baltimore-Little Italy is only blocks from the Inner Harbor. A few more blocks away is Fells point also has nice nightlife for all ages.

Arlington area- Near the Hilton is a unique restaurant called Flatiron Grill. Very tasty. Stir-Fry buffet, flat price for meal, mix your own and then give the dish to chef. They serve drinks.
