First of all, the language Adam and Eve spoke is unknown. Anything beyond that is sheer speculation.
As for how different languages came about, well, it's a wonderful history and not just the Tower of Babel. Languages have some sort of genealogy (check Linguistics on Wikipedia, for example) that help us understand their origins.
Not all languages have a written form or an alphabet, so linguists and anthropologists have to work backwards to find out more based on what little is known about a language from recorded speech or living speakers.
Keep looking!

Assuming that the Garden of Eden came from what is present-day Europe, it can be assumed that Adam and Eve spoke a language that is called Proto Indo-European. The way that different languages come about is that peoples separate from one another and their common language goes with them. These peoples had no means of contact with each other, and their languages evolved into different ones. Confer to Indo-European: it is the ancestor of English, French, Norwegian, Irish Gaelic, Hindi (and the other 15 major languages of India), and Farsi, just to name a few. You could find a lot of info on Indo-European with a simple Google search. Or you could stick with the Biblical approach and go with the Tower of Babel, which was built because---oh, what's the point? It was language evolution that happened.

I do not know the answer to your first question. As for where the different languages came from this is how the Bible said it happen:
People were building a great tower. They were attempting to reach heaven through the tower, God didn't like the idea and therefore he gave different groups different languages in order to divide them.
Have you ever tried to work with someone who does not speak your language? Guess what, it is nearly impossible, and very frustrating.
Anyways, they had to stop construction of the tower of Babel (that's what they called it). People of the same language formed their own groups in order to survive the great confusion. To this day the different languages exist.

I'm not sure of the etomology of Adam and Eve, but the different languages came about when God put an end to the building of the Tower of Babel. Look it up in the Bible.

It's depending of what kind of "Adam and Eve" you mean.
If you mean biblical Adam and Eve, we never know the language because the bible doesn't mention their language.
If you mean historical Adam and Eve, they may speak ancient African tribe language. Furthermore, Adam and Eve may speak different language because they may live in a different time frame.
I do believe that sometimes in past, there are only one language. Because people live in far apart, each began developed their unique language.

Adam and Eve may have spoke a precursor of Hebrew.
Genesis explains the different languages.
Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
Gen 11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
Gen 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Gen 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Gen 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Gen 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

We do not know what language Adam and Eve spoke. However, we do know that during the building of the tower of Babel, God caused different families to speak different languauges, to confuse them and stop their prideful building.

The story of the Tower of Babel in the Bible explains how and why the different languages came about. God designed the main ones.
