I absolutely love Good Eats, it's my favorite, and Alton Brown rocks! His teachings are intelligently presented, he can be pretty anal, and he always keeps his whimsy. The show is informative, entertaining, and a lot of fun. Oh, and his dishes are YUMMY!

I like The Essence of Emeril better than Emeril Live. In EL, Emeril gets all cranked up and drives the audience wild, but in TEOE it feels more intimate, just one-on-one with him, which I really enjoy.

There was one a few years ago called Taste, hosted by David Rosengarten. He was really informative! If the show was about pine nuts, for example, he wouldn't just present some pine nuts and talk about their usage. He would show different varities of pine nuts, talk about where they're from, and even explain some of the pine nut industry. Verrryyy informative, and I loved it. I still miss Taste.

What Food Network shows do you enjoy, and why?

Oh yes, Paula Deen is wonderful, so comforting. Her foods are butter laiden, but they look really good.

Although I don't like Rachael Ray's tv personality - wayyy too cute and hyper - I do appreciate her quick cook ideas.

Eric Estrada - If you're brave enough to insult me, where is your picture? And the link to your email/360? Dude, insults like that are so lame. It's apparent that my struggle is with being overfat, true. But your struggle is much more offensive.

Delayed reaction... knob chewed off? Okay Eric Estrada, now you've pissed me off. As long as you don't show yourself here, you're 100% coward.

Paula's Home Cooking. I love this show because of Paula's Southern drawl, what she cooks, her pets, and her home.

30 Minute Meals. Rachael Ray has a great personality, and what she cooks is really good.

Emeril Live. Emeril Lagasse has an energetic personality and makes a lot of people laugh. Of course, the food is cool.

Unwrapped. I love watching how my favorite foods are made.

Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee. A lot of the desserts she makes are decadent and to die-for.

I hate Rachael Ray, she is so bubbly, it nearly makes me sick.

Paula Deen really makes you feel at home. She's welcoming, funny, her dishes are great though a little fatty, and her southern accent is awesome.

Alton Brown is great, I really love Good Eats and Feasting On Asphalt. He is such a scientist, and somehow makes it all taste good.

I love Giada from Everyday Italian. She's very fresh and her show is easy to watch. I didn't quite care for her other show, the Behind The Bash one, though.

Emeril is a little too "out-there" I guess you'd say.

Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee is godawful and hilarious. Her eccentric outfits, "tablescapes" and cocktails make for a so-bad-it's-good kind of show.

And I always look forward to the Food Network Competitions and the Next Food Network Star. Both keep you on the edge of your seat.

But overall, Food Network rocks.

I also name Alton Brown's Good Eats as my #1 choice. He is cooking with a brain. He also provided me with the very best brined turkey for the last 2 Thanksgivings.

I also like Paula Deen. A little southern crap goes a long way with me, but her food is always good. Just good old comfort food.

I do not like Rachel Ray. She's too hyper, her voice and waving hands are annoying, and NO one her age should still be wearing hip hugger jeans. Tramp.

Good Eats all the way, I loved his "Behind the Eats" episode.
Also, Right now I am all wrapped up in Feasting on Asphalt.

I love Alton because he not only teaches you a recipe, he also teaches you enough about the food in question so that you can develop your own recipes and know why they work.

I love knowing why my avocados turn brown (phenoloxidase) and why smashing garlic releases its flavor (alacine and alanayse) and why bananas as we know them may be doomed (to genetically pure).

*I love Cook Like a Chef with Canadian Chefs, they prepare 3 courses with a specific ingredient...totally love it!
*I also love Sugar with Pastry Chef Anna Olson, she is sooo into sugar regardless calories and her recipes are so awsome.
*There is a Mexican Show called El Rincon de los Sabores (The Corner of Flavors) and it is amazing...is not in the Food Network but still, they show incredible Mexican recipes that are beyond belief.
*Iron Chef America is a good one, not a favourite but you get to see something different.
*There is this guy in Travel & Living that has had shows in the Food Network and Discovery Channel but he is sneaky and you don´t catch him quite often.

Either way, I have cooked all of the above chef´s stuff and had a great time...great question dude!

Good eats - Alton Brown is so cute and funny!

Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals - A whole meal in half an hour? who wouldn't love this? especially me since I hate cooking.

Everyday Italian (I just love watching Giada cook. She LOVES food and appreciates it, look and texture too)

30 minute meals (Rachael Ray's recipes are always tasty)

Dave Lieberman's show (can't remember the name of it)

Barefoot Contessa (awesome!!!! but not always easy)

By the way, I cannot stand that semi-homemade show with Sandra Lee (just my two cents)

Alton Brown, he's like the history channel and the food network rolled into one and he's funny besides.

Love Alton! I also miss "Taste", that was a great show.
