...why don't they threaten to excommunicate those who support or applaud her doing this?

I'm not asking about whether or not Madonna should or shouldn't be excommunicated...I'm asking why she should be treated any differently than other Catholics who might not have such a problem with this.

I would have thought they'd have done that after her "Like a Prayer" video in 1989 I think. I was 9 and remember being shocked even then! Or maybe after some of her other videos..........having females give her lap dances (and while she was pregnant!), or the Erotica video, or any number of others. So they're JUST NOW offended? Tells me all I need to know about the catholic church. And I agree.........if they're going to go off excommunicating her NOW, after all this time, then they should excommunicate all those catholics who have supported her for the last 20 years or so, and themselves too for not doing something before now.

I haven't heard of this but Madonna is no longer a practicing Catholic she left the faith long ago. So excommunication won't mean much to her. Personally I am glad she is no longer Catholic. I am Catholic and I consider her a bad example of Catholicism.

Isn't it interesting that she would use Christ as a way to make money by shocking people. Christ is so loving though he will be thought of even at a Madonna concert. Possibly there will be many kids who hardly know anything about Christ and may think of him or ask questions. Maybe he wants thoughs kids to think of him- maybe it is him who is using Madonna. He would forgive her if she repented. As of the church , that would be a service I wouldn't miss.peace.

1)Who says that they won't?

2)Probably the vast majority of her supporters are not even Catholic.

3)Madonna gave up her Catholic faith along time ago, in favour of what she thinks is "kabbalah."

(I make the last 3 statement on the grounds that the vast majority of Jewish people will tell you that what ever it is Madonna is practicing, it is not Kabbalah, as you would have to be Jewish & in your 40s, to be able to practice it & have been studying the Torah your entire life.)

Just as soon as they excommunicate their pedophile priests, they might have an argument, but who cares?

Excommunication is as meaningless as confirmation.

Yeah, if she's still Catholic, they would've ex-communicated her for her whole Kabbalah thing.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THAT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT HER OR APPLAUD HER PROBALY DON'T GO TO CHURCH ANYWAY. MADONNA SHOULD NEVER SUPRISE ANYONE WITH ANYTHING SHE DOES--OFFEND SURE--BUT NEVER SUPRISE.
