and what does it mean, when you get shipped to a diagnostic center to be transfered to a D.O.C.? Does that mean the person is going to prison?

The diagnostic center is where people who have gotten sentenced to prison go first, they get tested for special needs and then assigned to the appropriate prison. DOC means Dept. of Corrections.

DOC is Department of Corrections

Jail is usually for offenses that were given less than 1 year in confinement. Misdemeanor

Prison is usually long term. Felony offenses

I've never been incarcerated, but I've been sent to jail several times while playing Monopoly. ;-)

i think it means getting/already had jail time.
