Would you rather be an anorexic
Or would you want to be obese.
Just a question I never knew which one, either way they both can lead to death.

I just think, being skinny like that would scare people. So we being intensly overweight. But like one of the answer, I would rather be obese, than anorexic because it gives u more time to think abotu it and save yourself.

this is the equivalent of asking whats better : being really really hot, or really really cold. each really sucks, and each could kill you. but i have been close to anorexia myself, and it is the worst feeling ever, i never got really really skinny, but the thought process that accompanies the disorder is unlike any other. every waking moment all you think about is food. what your gonna eat, how much of it, how mny calories your going to get that day. i couldnt even do my school work because i was busy calculating the calories i had ate, and was going to eat for the entire week. and calculating how much i could lose per week by creating a deficency of 1500 calories a day. i became so involved with losing weight that i began purging myself up to 5 times a day, luckily, my parents realized what i was doing and got me help, turns out i was depressed on top of it all, so i went to counselling once a week, and i now take zoloft. im so glad i got away from it all. but anyway back to the subject, i wouldnt want to be any of the 2 option.

I've already taken the anorexic route. Believe me, it's not all it's cracked up to be ! I lost 80 pounds in less than 6 months, and ended up on all sorts of medications.
However, I will never go the obese route. There are too many dangers there too.
But if having to take a choice, with no other option, I would say obese. It takes less time to die that way, and it's not an illness ( in most cases, it's a matter of choice ) that needs meds. I would just have to learn to diet and exercise, but not to the point that I did before.

Those who opted out by answering neither are lame.
I choose obese b/c I wouldn't be alone. Currently 60% of Americans are obese right now! Also, there are insurance companies who recognize the need for stomach stapling b/c of the rise in diabetes. So the cost for the cure is not outlandish. Depending on surgery is not the only solution for obese people. Whereas anorexia does not have surgery as an option.

As we age we deteriorate in size on many levels anyway. If one were anorexic and not treated, I believe s/he has a shorter life expectancy than an obese person who is not treated.

Well, if your asking if I would rather be fat than skinny, I would prefer to be skinny. But like you said, either being anorexic or obese can both lead to death. Obesity is usually just due to no willpower to stop eating.(except for the few that have true health problems). Anorexia is due to a mental disorder. I think the obesity would be easier to overcome.

Anorexic

Anorexic. I am obese, don't let the Avatar fool you. I am fighting my obesity, just as I would hopefully fight anorexia. The difference is, among other things, that anorexia is private. What I mean is I am fat. Everywhere I go people see me, and my body. If I eat in public there is usually at least one insensitive jerk who stares or makes comments. If I was anorexic, I at least would get to bare that problem with out the opinions of others inter fearing.
PS As another person said at least with anorexia I might look OK.

If it's just for a couple years, I'd pick obese. It's more "reversible".. severe anorexia gives one worse heart problems (even after they start eating) than severe obesity.
They're both very bad choices, of course. You can be skinny or plump, but just stay away from the extremes.

I would rather be obese. I can lose the weight. I can learn to eat correctly. People who are anorexic need a lot more help than someone gettting told what is good to eat and what isn't. They need psychological help. They need to be watched.
