Do all vets do ear cropping?

I would push for not cropping the dog's ears. It makes the pit look meaner and only feeds into the stereotype that the breed is a killer. However, if you do choose to crop the ears, it needs to be done no later than 12 weeks (3 months). Any later than that is dangerous. Most dogs with cropped ears are show dogs and unless you are a show breeder, i suggest keeping the ears natural. Besides, bully ears are adorable!

It is best to wait til the puppy is at least 6 months old. The older the pup is then the easier it is to keep the ears taped up. some people do it between 11 and 12 weeks old, but it is easy for a pup to pull the bandages off at a young age. Most vets do ear cropping, but it is said that they are trying to stop ear cropping and docking of tails because it is considered animal cruelty.

No, thankfully not all vets do ear cropping any more. The majority of people are not into this inhumane treatment of dogs just to give them a certain look.

Why not leave his ears alone?

I also have a pitbull 1 blue and one that looks like spuds Mckenzie,.
Most vet's do, just call up different vet's in your area and see if they do and compare prices to different vet's , I believe you have until they are 6 month's old so you don't want to wait around too long or you'll miss your chance of having your dog's ears clipped. I was going to get my blue pitbull's ears clipped but she's so damn stubborn and hates having anything clipped nails....etc...

Why do you need his ears cropped? If you aren't showing him, there's really no point to mutilate your dog at this point in his life. Keep him au natural - it will make you that much more of a loving parent to him! : )

I would suggest cropping your own ears first.

This procedure is cruel and unnecessary.
