okay, i met this guy, and he was reallly the greates friend a girl could have. we had gotten really really close, and known eahcother well, when he tells me that he tried to kill himself twice. keep in mind that we're both only fourteen. so, i thought i met this amazing guy, and then POW! i found out that he used to be depressed and was treated for depression, and then tried to kill himself 2x. should i continue being friends with him? i know that sounds mean, but i really have to know.

Im young to and I know from my parents telling me stories of their life if your going to let him down then do it EASY if he's being treated for depression. If your going to stay friends then I hope it works out, but don't let him down to fast with people depression a break up with a good friend can some times trigger psycho episodes and he can hurt himself or others
Best of luck!!!

Yes. If anyone can help him you can. And right now, if you discontinued your friendship, he would start all over on his depression. Trust me, I used to be the same way as your friend. I was really really depressed and though I never tried to take my life, I seriously thought about it and would often find myself on the edge of doing it. He needs you. If it hadn't been for my friends, I wouldn't be here today. There's nothing more important than a really close friend. I hope everything works out, and if you ever find that he's been feeling suicidal, tell him how much he means to you and that NOTHING is worth taking your own life. A good friend of mine and former teacher once told me that 'What can't be cured can be endured'. Don't let him give up because even though he may seem alright, deep down he will always be haunted by the same feelings. My best wishes. And my prayers.

Yes you should, but as with everything in life, there is a possible risk and reward. The reward could be great, you could become something special to him and vice versa, turning his life around. The risk is if you get close to him and he doesn't want to be helped. That's a tough situation. I you like him, it's probably worth the risk.

yes of course, our past determines who we are today and who we are today determines who we are going to be tommorow.
so you say you like the boy. why should it matter what happened in his past.
everyone has done crazy stupid things in the past that they wish they could change.
you did not think you met an amaziung guy you did meet an amazing guy. even more amazing is he is still alive and has bounced back from depression, and whats more he has found a girl who thinks of him as amazing thats you. so stick with him if you still like him.

the worst thing u could do is abandon your friend just because he almost killed himseld twice. i think, no i know youre the best thing for him right now. u really just need to be his friend. he went through a rough patch in life, who doesnt? and really cant judge him for who he WAS, and love him as a friend NOW. be there for him.

well, if you really like him, it shouldn't matter what he's done in the past. Heck, you may make him feel better about himself and make him not wanna kill himself. You may be helping him.

well if you see him as a good friend then there shouldn't be a reason why you shouldn't want to keep being friends with him...if anything at all you should try to help him... may be all he really needs is a good friend.

your friendship is probably what he needs dont give up on him. he is the same person you knew before he told you all this. teen yrs are the hardest for guys. they need a gentle hear to listen to them.
