It's not the FLAVOR of the mouse that is the attractant. It is the mouse's movement and the cat knows this is the best food for it ever. Cats are very health conscious when given a choice.

When my cat kills rodents, he doesn't eat them. Rodents are like trophy hunting. I've had to train my cat to stop bringing his trophy inside.
This time of year all the birds in the neighborhood are fat from the blackberries. My cat really likes fat robins. If I find the carcass, there's usually only a few bones and feathers. There should be a "wild bird" flavor cat food.

Mice are too small, and individually difficult to gut and butcher for meat product.
However, a small cat food boutique might be able to perform the labor of love of raising, butchering, cooking, and canning mice for cats.

Cat foods are marketed and bought by people. They are designed to be attractive to the one who buys...not the one who eats.

lucky, my cat eats not only mice but baby rabbits and birds, im guessing your cat is skinny, i think a diet high in protein keeps them in shape, my cat is skinny also, for flavored food, i dunno, im in the same dilemma, just today she killed a field mouse
