Is that really the question you meant to ask? You're going to get a lot of smart *ss remarks telling you to have sex (though not that politely).

You may want to delete and rephrase.

How long have you been trying?

Although some women get pregnant easily, most don't right away. Sex ed that emphasizes "It could happen the first time" while correct, seem to also have given the impression that it ALWAYS happens the first time. (Not that I'm saying you've tried only once.)

It may take a while. It would be better to not stress it.

You can try timing sex to coincide at the primo time during your cycle, but there is simply no guarantee that anything will work right when you want it to.

If it has been several years, then you should talk to a doctor. There are ways to make it more likely.

Again, you may want to rethink the wording of the question, because a lot of people will answer the question you asked, rather than the one you meant.

For some, conceiving is as easy as pie; for others, it can be more of a challenge.

Steps:
1. Find a partner.

2. Dispense with birth control. If you've been taking the pill, most doctors advise you to wait at least three months before trying for a baby.

3. Have unprotected sex around the time you ovulate (which, for most women, is roughly in the middle of the cycle, or about 14 days before you expect your next period).

4. Repeat as needed.

5. Continue to repeat as needed.

Tips:
The odds of a normal, healthy couple conceiving in a given cycle are only one in four. So, counter to what you learned in high school safe sex classes, don't expect instant results.

If the old-fashioned way isn't doing the trick, there are lots of high-tech methods to help pregnancy along, from artificial insemination to fertility-enhancing drugs.

Warnings:
Be patient. The odds of conceiving each month decrease as you get older. Infertility is defined as not conceiving for a whole year - that's 12 or 13 cycles of trying.

Pre Natal Vitamins by Jackie Dupuis
Don't forget once you decide to start a family to start taking Prenatal Vitamins right away, Some of the most important development is in the first few weeks when you might not know you are pregnant and the vitamins will help decrease the chance of neural tube defects

Just keep trying! It'll happen when it's supposed to. I guess you could go buy a fertility moniter (they're next to the pregnancy tests at the store) but I would just keep having sex regularly, and if you're still not pregnant in a few months, meet with your gyno to get tested to make sure you can have babies, and the dr should also be able to give you tips on how to become pregnant. In the meantime, if you're trying to become pregnant, make sure to take your prenatal vitamins so your baby will be getting everything it needs from your body as soon as it's concieved. Best wishes!

I read your profile and saw you are 29. Hang in there. Ya know, if you stress about it too much it won't likely happen. You might want to go see a doctor and discuss it with him. Have your husband go too. The sooner you guys figure out why its not happening for you the sooner you can do something about it. But really, the biggest thing is don't stress. When you aren't thinking so hard about it is when it could happen for you.

And one more thing, ignore all the mean answers you got in here. You got some really good ones too.

Good Luck and God Bless.

Conception starts at the EXACT moment it is supposed to. If you don't ever get pregnant, you wern't meant to. Be a loving supporting soul in someones life that needs a mother figure. That could be your calling.

Find an irresponsible man. They normally never have a problem with getting a woman pregnant.

have lots and lots of sex...hehehe

seriously, though, the best time of the month for a woman to conceive is about day 14 after the first day of her period. If you continue having difficulties, talk to your doctor.

You're going to have to be patient. Sometimes it can take up to a year of trying, even in fertile couples.

If you're really having trouble, contact your OB/GYN and ask about running some tests.

You get pregnant when a dork flies into your cabbage patch dear...If you are 29 for real, I may send my dork over to your patch...just give him nutts and you'll be knocked up in no time.
