lettuce entertaine you - is a great family of prominent Chicago restaurants. but $ 40 is kind of not really enough for this gift card.

$40.00 will not go too far in Downtown Chicago unless you go the pizza route. In that case I would reccommend Giadarnos Pizza. It is deep dish to the extreme. The pizza comes out looking like a lasagna. It is a nice and relaxing atmosphere too.

$40 bucks would go pretty good at Harry Carey's too. It would be nice if your friends are sports fans. It is on Michigan Ave.

If you really want to go all out I would recommend the Tavern on Rush. Excellent food and service, plus you could bump into celebs like Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston.

Ideas are: Maggiano's little Italy (Super Good A+) , Nacional 27, Fogo de chao (Awesome- They have Brazillian type of food, with 16 different types of meats, Full salad bar, Terrific drinks!!! A++++). Or the best bet might be for "lettuce Entertain you" - Which is one gift certificate that you may go to dozens of resturants....Highly recommended especially when you really don't know which resturant to give them to. That way it is a general gift certificate.....

Good Luck !!!

(Now I am getting hungry just thinking of all the foods --lol-lol !! )

40$ isn't a lot for dinner in Chicago. Especially if you want to send them somewhere nice.

Grand Lux might be around that price range, but I wouldn't recommend it. Chicago ChopHouse is amazing, but will cost around $100 if they aren't going crazy. Fogo de Chao is good too, but that will be about $100 too. Check out Japonais, Sushi Samba, Charlie Trotters, and Ruth's Chris. Everything will be around 70-100 for a decent meal for two.

I love the Lettuce Entertain U restaurants but $40 isn't really enough.

Perhaps you should tell them you are sponsoring their first slice of heaven--and get them a gift card for Giordanos, Pizza Uno, or Pizza Duo.

The Cheese Cake Factory is an excellent choice...there is one in the John Hancock building.

Gibson's Steakhouse - best steaks in town, but it'll cost you a bit more.

I would reccomend any places that have fried chicken. Its no secret that blacks and chickens are a quiet fond of one another.
