for actions between consenting adults i dont understand why this act is a crime. i mean ultimately what is a date all about? dinners for sex. if the sex is good enough then maybe marriage. so really isnt our prelude to marriage really about prostitution under a different cloud. also, what about the biological sexual needs of the handicap, widowers, the unattractive, the lonely? why should they be denied the opportunity for their needs being met without fear of 'breaking the law'?

absolutely, as long as health issues are controlled. Like the Taiwanese girls during Vietnam. The US Government gave them free health screening and then issued them certification cards so the incoming GI's on R&R could check them out before sleeping with them.

I also think that prosititution should be legal ,, there are many marrages that end due to sexual incompatability. If all the male wants is a bit of extra sexual release ,,, this could be a safe way without breaking up the marrage. I love my wife, we get along very well and love to do things together ,, but enough for her is a few times a month, at 50, I still feel those needs daily.

Actually for MANY people dating is about getting a chance to MEET another person and maybe get to know them better. Later in a relationship dating is because they want to spend TIME with the other person and grow thier communication skills and see if they are still interested in each other. Many people save the sex untill after the marriage it is really quite normal. Despite what Hollywood or the Media might think. As for the second part of your question are you implying that handicapped people are unable to find someone to love them? or that you need to be attractive to find love? or that handicapped people are unattractive? if so then I think you need to grow up a bit.

Anything illegal that has anything to do with the exchange of money....... is illegal because the IRS don't get their cut. lol.....

Think about it......

It's only when the government can figure out how to control the money part that it will be legalized.

As far as legalizing it..... well that's a hard one, because I'm not sure if it would help society as a whole. Maybe if it was legalized than maybe..... that's a big maybe.... there wouldn't be as many rapes or sexual abuse on children... I don't know but maybe it would help society maybe it wouldn't. It probably would be good for the prostitutes.

I'm a conservative, more of a Libertarian I guess, because I believe that it should be legalized. In one fell swoop, the prostitutes would have all the protections of Federal labor law to use against pimps and madams who try to abuse them, or take unfair advantage.

The reason it's illegal now of course, is the corrosive effect it has on marriage. If you could figure out an effective way to allow it for singles but not marrieds, a majority might support it.

I say no. Where does the degradation end? There has to be a moral boundary somewhere. Will every lustful need be legalized? Will the pedophiles be next? I have nothing against what happens between two consenting adults, but whoever said "keep the government out of my bedroom" is right on with me.

I've often wondered why two consenting adults, who barely know each other, can have sex somewhere and it not be a crime. it isn't until money is offered for the same thing, between consenting adults that all of a sudden it becomes a crime.

There would be more positives than negatives for society if it were legalized. First timers could get concerns answered in healthy way. Old times could take care of boredom in healthy way. Imagine all the new and interesting college courses that could develop. There would be another sin tax to put on very regulated professional of both sexes.

Legalized meaning what? That it's government-regulated (get a license, have regular checkups) or that hookers will no longer get arrested for what they're doing? Not everyone who is prostituting is doing so willingly, and the pimps need to be held accountable, along with the johns who are soliciting for hookers (and the prostitutes themselves). No, I say don't legalize it...if you want it legal, go to Nevada.

It should be legalized. The only reason it isn't is because the government would receive no tax dollars from it. If the administration set up government run brothels so they would receive tax dollars it would be met with such resistance the administration would fall. Therefore, since they can make no money from it they make it illegal.
