Does anyone know the details regarding the Air Force and Navy asking some of their enlisted to transfer into the Army and Marines. I've heard that they were offering bonuses and that they wouldn't have to go back to basic training. They would just have to take some sort of class to learn rank structure and other stuff like that. I answered someones question and couldn't give the details. I was hoping some of you could maybe help. Thanks.

When my husband and I were stationed in Germany we lived on an airforce base even though we were army and that's all the airmen and women were talking about. Most were saying H*** no they were not doing it. This was only 1 1/2 yearsago. I'm not trying to exagerate or falsify anything. Honest. lol lol lol

It is calle the Blue to Green program. They do this because there are too many people enlisted in that branch of service. As far as I know there are no bonuses that go along with it, but there could be.

I had not heard that one. But, the Marines get some of the toughest assignments, and they get stuck with most of the amphibeous assaults. Perhaps they need more Marines for some reason or another. Perhaps there is going to be another seabased invasion in the near future. I am a fan of the different branches of government switching around personnel and joining forces for operations. It allows people to meet each other and build a stronger government through cooperation and mutual appreciation.

This is totally not true. I served four years in the United States Air Force. Besides being the smallest military branch, the enlistment numbers for the Army and Marines have actually been pretty steady. Plus, both of those branches offer the highest bonuses and educational benefits to enlits. Please do not help spread this myth. It's totally false. If you don't believe us, just contact your local Air Force recruiter in your area.

Boy...talk about culture shock. It would have to be one screaming killer bonus for me to do that.
