I've recently become obsessed with vintage hair. I love the look of pin-ups and Old Hollywood film stars from the 20s to 50s. I'm not very experienced with styling my own hair but it's something that I would like to try.

Right now my hair is in a bob that goes a little past my chin. I'd like to do finger waves, a pomp [though my hair might need to grow,] and things like that. Any style recommendations would be excellent but any websites with a tutorial would be the best.

Go back to Idaho about 1927, my Grandmother opened a restaurant in Salmon. She named it the Hover Cafe. Dorthy was cute and the men loved her. And she loved the men. Her business did very well indeed until 1929 when the great depression hit the Country.
My Grandmother Dorthy closed up shop and went back to cooking on the trail during roundup for the cowboys. Her vintage hairstyle was, before she escaped from her husband, made by a bowl and a her hair was covered in axle grease.
He was a jealous man. But after him came four more and each was younger than her, she buried two and put the other two in jail.
Dorthy liked men and variety.

Try finding a picture and taking it to your hair stylist. They should be able to do it to your hair and tell you how to do it yourself. That would be the easiest way to learn... watching someone else do it. Or bring two people you know to the hair salon. Have the stylist do it to one of your friends as you try to do it at the same time to someone else. Step by step with visual... that's the best way to learn it.
