I find myself coming up with a few questions and hypocrisies about Christianity that keep me from completely embracing the religion. For instance this pickle... the Christian religions say if you are homosexual, you are going to hell. Now I'm not gay, but I understand that that true gays are born gay which means God made them that way, so why are they being condemned to hell? Does that mean God doesn't want us to be ourselves? Whats the dilly? I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts but especially by the practicing Christians out there.

By the way, for all you saying that gays aren't born that way, thats crap. Go back to your childhood and think of all the people you knew were gay as they played on the playground or in gym. I knew my boy was gay in 2nd grade before we even knew what sex was. While I was playing king of the mountain, he was playing hopscotch. True gays are born gay, period.

I believe Kivan's answer totally. The church did come first so it is what the people believed, for lack of any other choices.

I also believe that people are born gay just as they are born straight. I challenge the straight people out there to tell me when they made "The Choice" to be straight? did they EVER entertain the idea that they could be gay?

And you say that people can just switch to being straight.... ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Tell me if you straight people out there were made to turn gay, would you be happy even for one day? would you accept it and everything it means?

You cannot change your sexuality any more than you can change the color of your skin!

Oh and BTW, accordding to ancient biblical tgeachings the earth was 'flat' held up by 4 giant turtles on an ocean. if you went too far in any direction you would fall off the edge. It was also said that the earth was the center of the universe and everything rotated around the earth.

it was Science which was able to prove the earth was not flat, but round and that the earth was not the center of the universe, but that it revolved around the Sun, wh ich in turn revolves around our galaxy!

The church shunned some of the greatest minds including Isaac Newton, for disproving the flat earth theory and that he lived his last years in isolation.

Once again just as Kivan said, Science proves the bible wrong! Do any of you believe the earth is still flat and that if you go too far you will fall off the edge?

So does that mean I'm going to hell for being gay? well entertaining the idea that there is a hell, which I do not believe there is, my answer is simply NO

I never chose to be gay, just as I never choise the color of my skin, or the country I live or language I speak.

Science is showing time and time again there are possible chemical and brain anatomical causes for people being gay or straight.

If we do ANYTHING that is contrary to God's Law (including homosexuality) it is guaranteed that we will go to Hell. And everyone, myself included, has broken God's Law in one way or another. The Bible says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

HOWEVER, God gave us a way of escape. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to suffer the punishment that we should have suffered for breaking God's Law. If we believe in Jesus, and trust that He will pay for our sins, then we can go to heaven instead of hell. It doesn't matter if we have been a murderer, a bank robber, a homosexual, an adulterer, or whatever else you can think of. If we have truly become saved, then ALL our sins, past, present, and future have been paid for.

So there's no "hypocracy" in the Christian religion whatsoever. All other religions, however, are based on the idea that if you can do the right kind of works that are pleasing to God, or enough of them, then you can get to heaven. In other words, if you're "good" enough, then God accepts you.

True Christianity blows that idea right out of the water. It says that NONE of us are good enough to go to heaven on our own merits. God is absolutely Holy, and He cannot even look on sin. Since we are all sinful, God could rightfully destroy us all if He chose. But He loved us so much, that He was willing to send His own Son to suffer hell in our place, if we only believe on Him. What a deal! Now THAT'S love.

I would suggest that you carefully read the Bible to discover for yourself this amazing plan of salvation. Some suggested readings are John 3:16-20, 5:24-29, 6:35-65, 8:31-32, 10:27-30, 12:44-50, 14:1-15:27, 19:1-20:31; Acts 3:19-26, 4:8-12, 5:29-32, 10:34-43, 13:38-48; Romans 1:18-2:29, 3:9-28, 5:6-21, 8:1-17, 9:13-33 10:8-17. And this is only from 3 books out of 66 books of the Bible, so continue beyond this.

There is no hell. There is no "god." Religion is an illusion that humans have created, that has even evolved somewhat, and makes people feel better about themselves. That is why it works. People don't need to look at their lives logically if their biblical rules and explanations about what created this, or why this or that happens "makes sense" to them and attracts their faith into something that really does not exist.

Remember, religion was formed before we had the scientific capability to find out the REAL reason for why things happen. Humans have a deep need for answers, and religion came first. Technology and scientific progress came second, just because things like that take time to develop.

There is no convincing these people otherwise. They are religious die hard fans. Conversations usually turn into heated debates and sometimes people get themselves killed over what is so petty and small in the large scheme of things.

Some people seem to have forgotten the rules of behaving that their kindergarten teacher taught them long ago.

The Bible does not say that if you are a homosexual you are going to hell. The Bible does condemn the act of homosexuality. The Bible also condemns lying, stealing, cheating, murdering, adultery, gossip, rage, deceitfulness, malice, quarreling, etc. There will definitely be some homosexuals in heaven. Those who have believed on the name of Jesus Christ and have accepted salvation through His blood sacrifice.

Are some people born gay? Scientists have been trying to prove so, but haven't yet been able to. Assume that they are born gay. We are all born into sin--that is--born desiring things that are contrary to God's nature. For example, the Bible says that sex outside of marriage is wrong. What about the person who never marries? God wants that person to never have sex? That's right. God says that the person who never marries (or who loses a spouse and then remains single) should abstain from having sex.

And God says that the person who has homosexual urges (whether from birth or not) should not act on those urges but abstain from having sex. And God says that the person who is unfairly treated should abstain from seeking revenge. And God says that the person trapped in an unhappy marriage should abstain from having an affair.

The Bible teaches self-denial and giving up our desires for the ways of God. That's why we are told to "count the cost" when we desire to follow Jesus. The cost is great. And so are the rewards.

I don't know how gays become gay, but I don't believe for a minute that they were created that way. God doesn't create people with an uncontrollable sinful nature, He creates people good. Homosexuality is a distortion of one's true sexual nature (hetero) which should be controlled and overcome. It's not easy to do this, and may require medical attention, and certainly lots of prayer and meditation, and even psychological help. However, to blast all gays as horrific and say that they're gonna be condemned to hell, well, that's when a human is playing God. We are to love gays and help them find their true nature, and to help them heal from homosexuality.

Homosexuality isn't the only sin in the world, btw. We all sin, so we all fall short of the glory of God.

Peace.

God created men and women for each other, and to have a relationship with him. God is a God of love. He would not
intentionally create anyone to be predestined for hell. If people
were born gay (as they claim to be), then that would make God out to be a liar. But God cannot lie (as he is a spirit). I believe that people are gay for many reasons. One may be that they were sexually abused by their father (or some male relative), or even just some other male who was dominant in their life during childhood, and they grew up thinking that this must be a normal part of life. Or it may be some other reason. Whatever the reason, you must understand that God does not create gay males. Nor does he create gay females. If he did, then you could
justify rejecting God. Just remember that God loves you, no matter what you've done, and he can forgive you, and give you a new start in life. You don't have to be condemned with the rest of the world. God hates sin, and homosexuality is considered a sin. But if you're using the excuse that God created you gay,
then you're simply rejecting the truth. All of us have sinned, and come short of God's glory (not just homosexuals). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, his death on the cross and resurrrection that we can come to know hm as a loving father. Any other way leads to destruction. I hope I have answered your question. Take care.

I am a Christian, and I DO NOT think that Gays are going to Hell. I have read all of the bible passages referring to homosexuality, and with prayer and reflection, I have come to the conclusion that they talk about God's hatred of sex acts, "fornicators" and homosexual acts that take place outside of a committed relationship and without love. Many people, gay and straight, have sexual encounters without any love involved at all. I think that it is *those* encounters that God disapproves of.

I am just a lay person and I don't claim to know all that much about scripture, but that is my interpretation. If you disagree or would like to discuss this idea, message me!

Your first problem is where you say, "but I understand...that the true gays are born gay...etc...etc."

1. What is a "True Gay"? Are there "Pretend Gays"? And does it matter?

2. God has told us in scripture, " My thoughts are not as your thoughts and my ways are not your ways" God is a mystery. To embrace God, Christ, and Christianity we also must have a measure of Faith...thats part of the religion.

Finally, there are numerous verses in both the Old Testament and the New Testament that warns against sins of the flesh and homosexuality.

We have been given the grace and gift of an intellect and free will. God wants our love but he doesn't want it from robots. It must be real. Part of that is obeying God's will and word.

We can choose not to follow Him and do what WE want to do. However, there are consequences to our decisions and actions. Just like, I can choose to jump off the roof of this building but I can't change the law of gravity. Even if I hate gravity and would rather float...it won't change it and I will still fall.

Gay people are free to be gay and act on their homosexuality. It is still forbidden by God and they will have to answer for their choice to follow their will and not his.

End the final analysis: If we know God's word and His will for us and we choose, with full knowledge of our actions, in this case to continue to live in unrepentant continual sin because WE think its Ok.. we run the risk of eternal separation from God. Not by His will or design but by ours. This rule of thumb applies to all people and all sins we like to commit and don't want to give up, not just homosexuality.

Honestly, just because you see some people like that, that doesnt mean that everyone is.. no one is just plain born gay, thats not the way it works. Being that way is your choice, your decision to make, and if your mind or whatever leads you that way, so be it, that is your mind, and that is the way that your mind changed.. God made us, yes, but he doesn't control the way we are. Period. Now, if you can't get off the idea that gays are born gay, then you will never understand this, but if you do get past that idea, then look, God disagrees with that, he despises it, and it just doesn't fly with him. But he doesn't create anybody that way, so no, its not hypocritical.

All gods are imaginary. But as long as youre coming up with questions, how about these..

Where is the sense in a god that forgives people by letting them kill his son?

Where is the sense in looking at a world full of suffering, sickness, and tragedy, and concluding that prayer works?

Where is the sense in thinking that punishment is transferable from one being to another?

Where is the sense in thinking that a god would have an offspring in the first place?

Where is the sense in believing in a perfect creator who created a world full of creatures with obvious design flaws?

How can you view someone as "good" who supposedly murdered scores of first-born babies just to make a point to some pharaoh?

Since mountains of medical scientific evidence proves that consciousness, memory, desire, anger, jealousy, love, etc are functions of the brain, how could a god possess those traits without having a brain?

Since conciousness is a function of the brain and our brains rot and disintegrate after we die, isnt it obvious that we wont experience heaven, hell, or anything else after death?

Why does that egotistical god need so much praise? He's like a child shaking his fist over an ant hill yelling, "Worship me or else!”

If jesus was divine, he could foresee the future and knew he'd be back in time for chocolate rabbits on sunday. Where is the sacrifice in that?

If god is mightier than Satan, how was it that god was in a position that he either had to let us kill his son, or lose all of humanity to Satan for eternity?

If jesus' death was so important and planned, why didnt jesus just kill himself? Or at least have his disciples do it?

If the creator needed to have an offspring, wont jesus need to as well? when will the son be a father, and the father be a grandfather?

If jesus was serious about healing people, why didnt he teach them to make pinicillin?

What is it that makes god a "he"?? A Y chromosome? or a giant male appendage?

I could go on all night...
