you have to actually buy RAM, it's not something you can do by changing settings... RAM comes in sticks that you have to put into the computer physically

Even though you can buy more RAM your computer has probably had its day by now, even with more RAM it will still probably struggle to run XP, so you'd have to upgrade the processor as well, and then your existing motherboard might not be fast enough to handle it, so you might have to get a new one of them... You'd be better off getting a new (or newer) computer altogether, they're not very expensive if you know where to look.

That is not very much RAM to start with....... I don't see how you are able to run anything with only 64K.

You may make it run a little faster by running Defragmentation. Check and see if you can upgrade your RAM. It sounds like your Computer is pretty old. There is not much you can do if it cannot be upgraded, you may have to buy another Computer.

Good Luck to you.

go to the computer shop and ask for 64 meg ram .. when you buy that open the computer and look for the identical item in your computer .. when you find that .. look next to the one is already in the computer .. you should see another empty slot insert the new one and turn on the computer you will see the memory will increase to 128 meg .... good luck

It would make more sence for you to buy a new PC since memory upgrades aren't cheap and you can buy a new PC for about $400.
Good Luck.

Take the booklet that came with your computer (or motherboard if it was built for you) to a store like Best Buy and they can tell you what you should get. If you can't install it yourself, maybe you can consider having it done there.

Find out what kind of memory boards you need... you have to look at the sockets and count the number of pins... and it's 2 sided... then contact some place like Tigerdirect.com and they will help you.

you have to buy it - it is physical. Adding as much memory as you can is the single best way to speep up your computer.
