She digs right under it. We try and let her stay out for about 2 hours a day. We leave her with fresh water when she is outside. She has a dog house. We think she does this so she can come back in the house. We have a HUGE back yard where she can enjoy roaming. She also climbs the fence, and has climbed the gate, and has pulled out the electric fence... We have since placed blocks around, but she gets through them. We have also purchased the continuing hot wire, not the kind that stops every few seconds. We also have covered the gate with wood, so that she can not get a grip on the gate. She can still climb over. She is a big hyper baby.. We tell her "NO" and place her back in the fence. She will stay in the fence as long as I am outside. If she can't see me, then she is out again. My hub has tested the hot wire, and it works, she yipes, and pulls it out with her mouth. Its the craziest thing.

I completely disagree about using a shock collar. They are horribly cruel and some dogs will ignore the pain to finish doing whatever they set out to do.
If your dog does it when you leave her alone out side, then don't leave her alone outside. It's that simple. Take her out for a walk instead. You can't throw a dog in the backyard and expect her to exercise herself. It's your responsibility to provide exercise to her if the backyard isn't cutting it.
If you can't take her out on walks, then sit out in the back with her. Play fetch with her favorite toy out there. Or better yet, create a special outside only toy. It will give her something to look forward to.

1. Invisible fence with collar - Gives out a warning sound to let the dog know it is getting close to the border, and once reaches the border, the collar will produce a shock. The shock strength can be adjusted.
2. Concrete base under the fence. Usually 2-3 feet is sufficient.
Some dogs can be runners, and never learn to stay within the boundaries where others are always close at bay.

Invisable fence w/electric shock collar is worth a try. So is trying to keep her occupied with toys, etc.
We had one dog we dubbed "Houdini" - she got out of everything! Even climbed a chain link run. Dug under, climbed over, jumped, even learned to open our door - she was *not* looking to come in - she wanted to check out the neighborhood, then would come back and lie in the yard with her feet crossed like a queen, gazing as the world passed by.
When she was 10, we gave up. If she hadn't been hit by a car by then, she probably wouldn't be. (She died at a ripe old age).
Only way we could contain her was by leash.
Oh - by the way, she had her CD (obedience degree). LOL!

What your dog wants is out of that yard. What you need to do is take her on a leash walk (controlled walking, you leading and her following) for at least an hour at least once per day. Roaming in the yard or playing with her is not the same as the leash walk. I guarantee that if you do these walks she will be content to stay in her nice yard for the rest of the day.

MOST DOGS DIG FOR A REASON TRY THIS BUY A LITTLE SAND BOX FOR HER PUT SOME TREAT IN IT (THEY WILL GIVE HER SOMEHTNG TO DIG FOR) AND SHE WILL ONLY WANT TO DIG THERE AND THIS WILL KEEP HER FROM DIGGIN ANYWHERE ELSE. JUST MAKE SURE TO PUT THE SAND BACK IN IT OR AN EXTRA BAD ITS REAL CHEAP FOR BIG BAGS.

It wasn't cheap, but I had to lay patio stones all around the base of our fence. It worked though.

she probably just wants to be with you, take her inside when you go inside, and take her outside when you go outside
