When reading another poster's question, brandonr189 stated: "Praying is a waste of time. tell me one prayer you've ever had answered."

I have a feeling my brothers and sisters can post many MANY examples of truly answered prayers!

May God bless these answers and answerers!!!

Oh man! So many! I couldn't even begin! Here's a little one answered that was a biggy to me that happened recently. Try to make a long story short. We were visiting relatives in the big city of Denver the 4th of July. Took my little dog with us. She got scard with all the fireworks noises and ran off. Couldn't find her for two days. I prayed and cried and prayed my guts out for God to watch over her and return her to me. Had her for 10 years! She's like a kid of mine! We checked dog shelter after dog shelter. Third day we had to leave for home. Told my husband we had to at least check the last shelter out before taking off, and so we did. The moment I walked in the door, the phone rang at the desk of this kennel. As I was telling a lady about my dog, the lady next to her was talking on the phone to the guy who called stating he had a lost dog matching my dogs description. They got us together and I got my baby back. She had crossed a huge interstate and God knows the danger she'd been in. God heard my broken heart and safely returned her.

If anyone has any doubts of prayers being answered, they should read the book The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. Its a true story, and an excellent book. It's set around the time of the Holocaust, and Corrie gets arrested for hiding Jewish people. If you don't believe in Prayer after reading that book....well youve got to be just stubborn. Prayer is the best way to get to know God and his "Mysterious ways" better. (If someone doesn't feel like reading the whole book, you could just read Chapter 13 titled "Ravensbruck" pages 176-192. Although the whole book is filled with answered prayer, although not always answered yes.)

I've had many, many answered prayers in my life. God has three answers , yes, not now or I have a better way. Sometimes his better way is really awesome. Ultimately it is his will not ours. He does say "knock and the door shall open, ask and you shall receive." Also if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains. Also it has been a proven fact that sick people in hospitals who are prayed for recover much quicker and at a larger rate. If I can dial my cell phone and someone can pick it up on the other side of the planet and hear my voice why can't my prayers be heard by the spirit who I am praying to- Jesus Christ?

The blessing of a prayer answers is AWESOME. What is even MORE awesome are the unanswered prayers. The reason is that we don't always pray for what's right. I've heard of people praying for the demise of their fellow man/woman... That's not a good prayer...

My favorite unanswered prayer came in the form of my husband. I was sooooooooo in love with this other person, that I spent NIGHTS and DAYS praying that we'd end up together. Well, it didn't happen. In the midst of praying to GET him, I also prayed that God would send me a man who was not afraid to love me, lead me, cherish me, protect me.

Then came my husband. A friend I'd known for years - but I was too busy praying to get the other guy... One day, as my husband puts it, God slapped him on the head and said: "HEY! SHE'S the ONE!"

It's been love, love, love ever since. The other guy... Well... Let's just say, I saw his true colors, and we wouldn't have lasted.

And God does hold my family and friends in the palms of His hands. I know this because of where we are today. I'm grateful. PRAISE HIM!!!

I have had many many prayers answered (some vocally).
beginning with my Salvation
Meeting my husband (now THAT's a story)
All 3 of my children
the salvation of a friend
increased faith
purchase of our home

Also prayers that were answered in OTHER than I would have loved them to be - but in retrospect - it made more sense from God's will how He answered it.

I have also been cured of migranes
I have been verbally told by the Lord that someone would be healed and they have been.

God is Good! ALL the time!

I have had countless prayers answered. Now that I am older, and have gained a little wisdom, I find that I am most thankful for the prayers He did NOT answer; or rather, I am thankful for prayers that He did not answer in the way I wanted Him to answer.

One example: I prayed for a relationship to continue that did not. Thank the Lord that request was denied. I am now happily married to a wonderful woman. I had something in mind for myself, but God had something even better, that was yet unseen by me.

Grace and Peace to you.

Yes, i prayed that i would get promoted and it didn't happen that same day but eventually i was promoted.
You must remember that when you pray for something and it doesn't happen right away that doesn't mean that He doesn't love you or He didn't hear you etc. It just means you"ll have to wait a little longer for it to happen. Think of it this way you have 300 e- mails to read and every time you answer one 20 more come up you can't answer every one at the same time but eventually you'll get there. That doesn't that you don't love the person that sent it to you or that you didn't get it.
REMEMBER: All Good Things Come To Those Who Wait.

In the book of Matthew it states that if a child asks his parent for a piece of bread then the parent will not give him a plate of dust or a snake, because the parent loves their child and the child is asking for something that is helpful. They are not going to trick their child. Since we are all Gods children would he not do the same and more?

I am adopted, I prayed, wanted, begged, and desperately needed to find my birthmother. I went thru two and a half years of searching before I found her. After talking with her we had both decided that we would not have the perfect relationship that we do now if this had happened sooner for either of us. God had his hand and his perfect timing in mind the whole time. He was getting us ready for something even greater than I had asked for.

praying is so not a waste of time if u believe in god and have faith your prayer will probally get answered. But all remember God isn't Santa Clause so he can't really answer every prayer cuz somethings just have 2 happen.
